Bah, I bought it last week. Super useful for controlling your PC. I combined it with tasker so it automatically turns my PC on at 8AM (Wake on LAN) and turns it off when I go to bed. I've also started combining it with NFC tasks to launch certain programs when I touch NFC tags, for example starts downloading a heap of stuff when I tap the tag and stops when I tap it again instead of spending 40-60 seconds manually doing it occasionally (tag took like 2 minutes to setup).

If you were really good you can combine it with linux and eventghost (can send notifications to your phone which you can send to tasker which can send to unifiedremote) to do all kinds of crazy things.

It can also be useful if you have a HTPC and you can use this as a controller for it, like a steam box with dualboot to windows or whatever.

how do you "combined with tasker"? do you tell tasker to launch unified app and then send a keyboard key press or something?

      • +2

You can tell Tasker to launch an app, wait X seconds, then send an emulated touch (press) on an X,Y coordinate on the screen.

There are probably other ways but this is the only method I can think of if the app itself does not have Tasker integration.

      • There's a unifiedremote plugin for tasker that can use any of the remotes for basic things, but it requires some tweaking if you want it to launch apps.

    • +2

Ah Tasker… the only app I am willing to pay for over and over.

So many amazing automation tasks, so little time.

I've set mine up to get notified when SPAM gets posted on Ozbargain…

    Great app

A must have for anyone with a pc

  • +1

Easily the most feature-filled computer remote. Turns your device into a WiFi or Bluetooth universal remote control for your Windows PC. Mac and Linux support also available (beta). Control your favourite programs, mouse, and keyboard.

It says the offer reset if you reinstall the app. So basically, you have to keep it on your phone to get the full version?

    • Yep.

    • +7

If your phone is rooted you can probably use titanium backup.

    Thanks muchly!

Great app, have only been using the free version til now coz that suited my needs but nice to upgrade for free. Thanks :)

Just downloaded and played around with it. The mouse and keyboard functions are very cool and work very well. I can imagine myself using this during a presentation or controlling the music during a party. Thanks OP!

Controlling your TV with your phone is so geeky..

    • +4

Most modern TV's have apps available these days to control them…

      • I thought you would have left this thread after you got burned by hashtagbargains's comment

    • +6

you say it like it's a bad thing

  • +1

Had a play with it. A great toy! Thank you, Mr. Snake!

    • +22

      And what about the app?

  • Looks good

  • thanks..

  • DAMN! I wanted this for my wife's phone, but it's away for repair (since 2 weeks ago, grrr Vodafone!)

Is there anything I can do so that I can get it once we get the phone back?

    • +7

You should be able to log in to the play store using her account on desktop. purchase, and install to her device. It will install when it's switched on next.

      • Cheers. Just did that, hopefully it'll work!

      • +4

This will probably not work since the app has to install today.

        • worth a shot I guess

  • So you can install it free but have to pay to reinstall?

    • Unless you have something like Titanium Backup which can save the app's data then yes you'll lose the upgrade if you remove it or reinstall it. You can't just redownload from the Play Store. Nor can you install on other devices after today unless you do the same thing. Quite annoying with Android apps like this.

  • +1

the offer resets if you reinstall the app..
a let down for otherwise a brilliant offer

    • +3

Maybe, but if you appreciate the app enough that you want it on your next phone it's not a bad idea to contribute something to the developers anyway.

  • Question: Can I backup this app (full version) using Titanium Pro and can restore/reinstall it (full version) using Titanium Pro if required in future?

Edit: It should be possible - found the comment above by justtoreply

does this need a client on the PC?

    • +3

      Yep. Unified Remote server.

      • Is that the same as the unified usb dongle from a newer logitech mouse/keyboard?

  • +1

Do these apps that are free via things like "App of the Day" etc get updates like the paid version would?

    • Yes does get updates.

  • hi guys i installed from the link above but for full version it still says $3.75. I have also installed sever. Am I missing something?? thanks for help in advance

    • You're supposed to install the free version, not the full paid version. Installing the free version today unlocks the full features

      • ok so install free version today and get full version in near future?? Installed free version already.
        thanks JLove

        • +4

Installing the free version today unlocks the full version features straight away….not the near future

        • @JLove:

Remember, this goes away if you re-install the app.
Maybe try backing it up with Titanium Backup and if you reset your phone you could restore it with data. It should work

        • @JLove:
hmmm something wrong then. most used tab "full version only",recent tab "full version only"and so on.
          Can someone help please

  • I didn't even know I'd already bought this. Thanks for reminding me to install it OP (Y)

  • its so big brother now has access to your pc (A BiG Back Door) lol
    thanks for the linky :)

  • dammit, my android is in for repairs atm :(

    • You can click on install from the browser and when you get your phone back it will install on the device.

      • +1

99% sure this will not work. You need to install it today to get the free upgrade. See other posts in this thread.

    • Tell the shop to turn it on and install it from the browser as mentioned above.

  • +1

    Great App. Thanks OP!

  • +2

Well I don't know what this is for and how it works but I downloaded anyway because it sounds cool and free lol

  • +1

I procrastinated to install this outstanding app yesterday. Today morning it's no longer full version.
I should have read free Amazon kindle on procrastination.
