  • 'Desktop Drive Case' - isn't it called an enclosure?

    Direct link.

    Which 1TB Samsung drive is included: F1 HD103UJ, F2 HD103UI or another?

  • Shipping's a bit steep IMHO, just shy of $18 to Newcastle; or $3 for the privilege of walking into the Sydney store to pick one up! :?

Thanks for the comment,it's postage and handling that we charge.$109+$18 =$127 delivered for 1TB Desktop Hard drive is still considered to be a real bargain, would you reckon?

      • +1

No, sorry it's not a real bargain, it's a decent price yes, comparable to your peers true, but that's about it! Mwave does the same deal for $129 (also delivered) with a Western Digital drive, for instance! Sorry but WD beats Samsung every day of the week for my HDD money!

And I'm 100% with Nikko, charging customers $3 to walk into your store to shop is plain rude! :(

The price is good but store's that charge people pickup fee's ought to be ashamed of themselves. There's no way you can justify that…its just not a good look.

    :-)

Comment noted, offering pick up is our commitment to our customer, however most internet based IT companies usually do not even offer pick up service at all. Shop around and you'll know. ^_^

Sorry dude, but you're posting to Ozbargain, SHOPPING AROUND IS WHAT WE DO! :)

IME IT companies that charge for pickup ARE in the minority, MOST have a shopfront somewhere! Nikko is right, it fosters ill-will and I know many people (including myself) who simply refuse to deal with companies that do it! Businesses live and die on goodwill, saying that charging a premium to have a customer come to you is "our commitment to our customer" will not get you too many brownie points! :p

If you have a genuine cost associated with providing this service over and above your normal business costs, then just come out & say that; people are not fools, then customers can make an informed decision without feeling they're being "fluffed"! ;)

iiBuy, I'm sorry but with all due respect IMHO thats not true. Neither of us have run the numbers however based on the main organisations I'm aware of I'd say a majority of IT hardware vendors that offer ONLINE purchases also allow pickups.

There are a few who don't - but many, many online vendors allow pickups FOC - as they well should.

That said, I also understand the concept of 'user pays' and if you DO NOT have a retail shopfront - as appears to be the case with iiBuy, then I can see why you'd be justified in applying a small fee.

Anyway congrats on your website, which compares very well to your industry peers and hope to deal with you soon myself.

    :-)

PS Saying 'ashamed of themselves' was inappropriate - early morning grumpiness - I just feel it isn't a great look and does foster some negative sentiment at the purchase stage, when really as a vendor you want the client to be feeling good about the buy….$3 is lower than what most others charge so fair play to you, I understand there's a cost involved in servicing these pickups - I do hope your postal charges are reasonable though, online vendors that overcharge on this are always behind the 8-ball.

    • Nope, I don't think you were too harsh on the $3 pickup thing, as my 3yo niece would say, "dats wude!" ;)

Oddly enough, postage charges to me are exactly $3 more than most competitors! This damn number 3, keeps popping up, like the number 23…I think I'm going KUH-RAZY! :O

I'm happy with the information that you provided about the enclosure however it isn't clear what hard drive you are offering with this enclosure.

Just mentioning Samsung is not enough information for a buyer to make a decent decision.

My apologies in advance if this information is somewhere and I have not seen it.

  • going to give this a pass

  • I don't think this is a bargain since the shipping is too high and comparable product can be had in other shop. Pick up charge is also cannot be justified…
