170

"The latest addition to the Kopparberg Cider family combines genuine Swedish apple cider with sweet Blueberry flavours, undercut by the crisp freshness of lime. Clearance item at DM. Not sure what it tastes like but it sounds nice.

    Latest addition…

    …Clearance item at DM.

    Not a good sign :p

I bought a case in DM for $35 about 2 weeks ago. It was labelled for $49, which I thought was good value, but a steal at $35 when it was put through the register.

As with most (all?) Kopparberg ciders, it is very sweet and not suitable for more than 2 or 3, but quite tasty for a sunny bbq

    Any Ozb reviews?

This isn't real cider. Kopparberg, Strongbow, Rekorderlig etc are all essentially just fermented corn syrup with added flavouring.

    • Agreed. I drink Westons perry and henry westons, or old mout. The 7-8% alc. makes for interesting nights. AFAIK they are 100% fruit with no additives.

  • Bought a case. For that price, worth a try.

  • Whats the expiry date on these? Usually clearance items are close to the used by or best before date. Like the cheap Kingfisher DM had on sale recently.

    • 4/12/14, so not long to go, although still good after that date.

      • what's the usual lasting time after the expiration date? how long after the used by date does cider usually last for? still taste good/still 'healthy' to drink?

I can't believe i took a food quality assurance class in uni and still don't know this answer =/

used by is after the date it is normally no good anymore correct? and best before means you can still drink it after the

date it just won't taste as good/be in as good condition/quality as it was before, correct?

i always get confused with liquors / beers and spirits

  • Cheers OP, snagged a case.

  • Bleh talk about an overload of artificial flavouring.

Yeah it's sweet, but pretty nice. As mentioned above, I'd probably only have one in a sitting (rather than 2 or 3), unless you basically want to be drinking soft drink that gets you bloated and a little tipsy. :)

Lots and lots of ice on a hot day = great.

I still prefer strawberry and lime, and prefer the aldi imported rekorderlig version, as it's a bit less sweet and a bit higher alcohol ;)
