Capsule coffee machine recommendations please

Can anybody recommend a capsule coffee machine for work, my preferred attributes are:

  • Has to be easy to use and relatively quick
  • Pods have to be refillable for cost/freshness
  • Easy or at least simple to clean
  • Doesn't take up too much space
  • Low price preferred

Pods have to be refillable for cost/freshness

Honestly, you'll get sick of this real fast!!! Filling, washing & managing them is a tedious task…

I'd just stick to something you can cheaply & easily get a wide enough range of readymade pods to suit your tastes. We have an Aldi one in the office at work, it's been good enough I suppose, but it's only just a step up from instant/drip filtered.

Aeropress would be a much better option.

I have an Aeropress + hand grinder at the office while I have a capsule at home

    • I have completely the reverse setting, capsule machine in the office, aeropress at home.

With the Nespresso cash back promotion, I got another machine at home now.

  • Definitely Nespresso. I bought one for my partner and it was one of the wisest decisions I ever made.

Nespresso say that you void the warranty if you use another brand of pods. The material on the top of the pods is different and wears and marks in a specific spot on the part that punctures them.

I hate Nestle with a passion but I have to say the machine is fantastic.

  • I have an old nespresso style unit at work and use the Coles brand coffee pods, they are good - coffee is roasted in Australia as well.
Some new machines have a weaker , smaller pin that punches the pod so only work with the brand name pods - rotten crooks.
