Dan Murphy's - Voss Water 800ml - $3.9 instore only

153

Edit 22/10/14:
Called DM Customer Service. The new price as per their catalogue is $3.9 per bottle IF you walk in store to get it. Its true that the site no longer allow single bottle purchases but its now cheap if you walk in. They said the catalogue expires 2/11/14
Sorry mods, this was marked expired but I edited it with new information. Cheaper than before now.
CAVEAT: They may update the website very soon because the per case price is wrong, buying single units in store is cheaper than buying pack of 12 over the website.

Bottled Voss Water are back in stock at Dan Murphy's

The 800ml bottle is approx 29cm tall.

Voss Still Water 800ml $4.49

Voss Still water 375ml $2.99

Voss Sparkling water 375ml $2.99

Seems to only be 34c cheaper than woolworths… I'd rather spend an extra 34c on a groceries run.

No offence, but how is this a bargain. Its the same price instore. This is the regular price when i was there 1 week ago

    • I been waiting ages for this to come back in stock again.
Last time I waited too long and they were all gone. Visited a few bottle O's and they either don't stock them or the price was much dearer.

        • Not in stock at my local Woolworths, they only have a the 375ml sparkling.
With WW Online there's delivery charge too.

I think a lot of people buy this for the bottle. Cheapest I saw from past deals was $3.89.

          @payton:

Plenty at mine. I always see at least 20 on shelf every time I do my grocery shopping

        • @easternculture:
I'm not gonna call up different WW to find where they have stock for the sake of saving cents. Might not be a deal for you, but it is for others.

        • @payton: maybe state what Dan Murphy's store your at, prices aren't the same nationally

        • @Tal_Shiar:

maybe state what Dan Murphy's store your at, prices aren't the same nationally

I might post a woolworths deal for Voss since its 29 cents cheaper than DM

        • @easternculture: what's stopping you?

        • +3

          @Tal_Shiar:

          common sense

        • @Tal_Shiar:
Picked up from Woolloongabba store in Brisbane.

        • @easternculture:
With the 9% Cashrewards offer the 800ml bottle should be $4.09 Delivered. 20 cents cheaper than what you quote.

          @Tal_Shiar
I've set my store to various capital cities: Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and the price was the same … shrugs

    • Try using your Amex with this - huge bargain! especially if you are a teetotaller!

    • this deal was probably posted because it went well last time. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/139147
(though it was a little cheaper)

Agree, its been this price for over a year. Not a bargain.

I got suckered in to one of these deals many months ago ($3.99 at IGA) and I bought two.

I still have one left unopened - I really don't get the whole bottled water thing. I suppose $4 for a nice glass bottle is reasonable, but how many glass bottles does anyone actually need?

A decent water filter on your tap, and 1L of water is almost free - much better bargain than paying $4.00 for 800ml.

    • I think the appeal is in the bottle and the water inside it is just a bonus, judging from past comments
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/157726

    • +1

Sure the water is almost free from a tap. But you can't bring your tap with you. So you need something to carry it in. Hence having a bottle.

So essentially, as payton points out, the water is just a bonus. You're actually paying $4 for a nice bottle you can refill with a tap.

As for how many do you need? Probably just one per person with cleaning and reuse.

I have seen quite a few people drop these bottles on the ground and they smash everywhere

Why is water at $5.61/L considered a bargain?

    • +2

Please find good quality wide-mouth glass bottles for less than $4 and post a bargain for those.

      • -4

"Wide-mouth" hahahahahaha! How big does your mouth need to be to drink water?

        • wide-mouth relates to the bottle design. bigger opening makes it easier to refill, plus you can fit ice cubes in them.

have a think before you open your….wide mouth eh

        • @tdw: So is this company selling water or glass bottle? What's so special or value for money about the bottle other than it is wide-mouth? What if they decide to use the same bottle & rename it to Voss Air & slap you with a $10 price - would you buy the air now?

        • +1

@iluvcheapbargains: clear to see it's water in a glass bottle. some people like glass bottles…see students with them all the time. they don't appeal to me as stainless steel bottles are much lighter and less fragile. voss bottles are cheaper though.

i'm not even saying this is a good price for the product but i'm not so narrow-minded that i can't figure out why this product appeals to some people

        • @tdw: I'll nominate Voss Water for the Choice's 2015 Shonky Awards.

        • @iluvcheapbargains: +1 vote from me

  • Why don't people just use a plastic bottle?

    • Because aesthetics :)
      Looks nicer in the office.

    • some people are sensitive to the taste of drinks that have been in plastic bottles. i personally can't tell unless the weather's warm; then can i taste the plastic. eck. plus all the bpa plastic paranoia of late.

    • 24 plastic bottles from a different brand, please.
