Try the millennium locks. A couple of years ago key duplicate for 2010 Ford costed just under 100$ (with remote). They also said they could come and open car and make 2 new keys for 600-700$ (in case if all keys where lost).
At least they where much cheaper than key shops in the shopping centers.170$ for magna key seems a bit anti-ozbargain.

how old is the car? old camry r easy to unlock, then take the lock to locksmith to make a key, cost about $70

You are in trouble if you don't have a key to copy
If its one with electronics then yep they cost a fortune. Most key places can't help as Toyota will need to program the key.
I had a 1998 Mitsubishi magna and 10 years ago it was around $170.
