Missing Items When Using Shipito

Hi all

Firstly thanks for reading my post and for providing advice.

I ordered 2 bags from Kate spade in US online, and it's my first time using a freight forwarder like shipito. Kate spade used UPS to send the items to shipito and someone in shipito signed and received the parcel.

However when I requested for the pictures, only 1 bag was present in the parcel. Kate spade said they can't help as I used a third party to receive the items and it was signed for by shipito. Shipito said they only receive 1 item and they do not check if the items matches up with the invoice. Shipito claims the parcel is only 3.25 pounds however UPS receipts shows the parcel is 7.5 pounds. I can't help but think shipito have stuff it up or someone has stolen one of the bags.

Who should be held responsible for this muck up. Kate spade, UPS, shipito or me? And what kind of resolution should I aim to get? Can I just get paypal to resolve the matter?

Thanks again.

Cheers

  • If you used paypal then they would only be able to take action against the supplier, not your chosen freight forwarder.

It seems the dispute is between you % shipito.. Good luck with that.

When buying from overseas it is always a risk and sometime the risk is just not worth it when you consider that you have no warranty or consumer rights of any kind. Quite often if the item goes missing there is nothing you can do about it.

  • Shipito have always been good for me. I've had over 50 orders through them. Every item has come and been sent as expected. I'd suspect they only sent you one package.

    • Thanks for that. if that is the case Kate Spade is very dodgy as they refuse to help because i used a 3rd forwarder.

  • Never mention that you are using a freight forwarder. Suppliers are more reluctant to deal with your issues, and you can get that forwarding address banned.

If you ever have shipping issues and the forwarder isnt willing to message them on your behalf, pretend the forwarder doesn't exist, email the supplier with the problem, and sort it out directly. Message your forwarder if they need to action anything, eg ship items back for returns.

Alternatively, choose another forwarding service that properly checks your items and follows up on unfulfilled orders (they cost more)

    • Thanks meeprawr, i did not mention about the forwarder to Kate Spade, however they are aware that i am using them. Now Kate Spade and Shipito are both not taking responsibility and are directing me to contact the other party. Its very frustrating.
