        Now, if after all this - from the having to register, to research, to having yet another company have CC deets, severe emotional turmoil due to first wondering "should I shouldnt I" (buy), then having bought but ultimately maybe not ….. imagine if the machine didnt suck. Then this whole fiasco wld well and truly BLOW!

        And still… as of 12.45pm…no confirmation email

  • I placed my order just after 3.30pm yesterday, I paid $99.65, received the sales order confirmation at 5pm yesterday, it says I paid $119 and the item is on back order.

    Below is the explanation from the Staples website of the mysterious separate $1 credit card charge.

    "After placing your order, a $1 pending charge will show on your credit card. This authorisation allows us to check your card and mitigate the risk of fraud. The $1 is never billed and will disappear after a couple of days."

  • I had to create an account when I purchased and I didn't even get the standard confirmation email for account created, is that normal for this site?

    Look like Staples is trying hard to honor the deal. They are trying to source enough supply to keep their customers happy.

    I'm going to estimate 3 times the voted amount
    (almost 240 odd)
    A tenth of the entire clickthroughs seems reasonable.
    I don't imagine more than 10% of your audience closing the deal and ultimately quoting that 'ol CCV. Im just talking rubbish. Rubbish that this vacuum could handle. Please send my my vacuum - but that's a lot of vacuums to find. :)

    I am totally ok (more than a little bummed) that they didn't fulfill the order because it was most likely a price error. But the out of stock claim is not true. The item went back in stock at a higher price. Can't a seller just be honest and say sorry we stuffed up, sorry we can't fulfill your orders?

  • Looks like it may have been a completely incorrect listing as they're not even showing that item anywhere on their site (they have the non-hepa version only)

  • I dont buy the "out of stock" excuse (Yep I got the "out of stock" email as well and yep, pun intended)

    I wld much rather have received an email saying "Apologies, we made an error" rather than "Tough ta tas, no stock"

    The first way buys goodwill and good faith, the second feels like a big ol one finger salute.

  • I ordered when it only had about 50 clicks on the ozb. I just got the dreaded ".. this is no longer in stock.." email! Yes as somebody mentioned, it is still in stock but at a totally different pricing. I am wondering if anybody actually had their order fulfilled? Or highly likely pricing error!

    • They either totally pulled the product and plan to keep it off the site for a bit, or it was accidentally listed. Possibly they don't have any HEPA versions.

    • Did you already received a sales order confirmation from Staples?, or is the "no longer in stock" email the first contact you have received from Staples since you placed your order yesterday?

  • I got one confirmation email and one rejection email and i ordered 2 vacuums…no idea if one got through or they are both canceled.

    • What was codes did you use. I'm wondering if they're just canceled some based off the codes used…I didn't read it properly when entering the codes. I don't think they were meant to work together.

    The two credit card transactions ($84.85 and the mystery $1) have not yet been reversed, so will need to keep an eye on that.

    Hope the OP does not miss out because we ozbargained it.

    • The mystery $1 is usually a "test transaction" the bank will automatically remove that in a few days.

  • I've been getting email after email telling me that the deals been cancelled(via email AND Staples account). UM, once will suffice - its like theyre trying to rub it in!

    And anyone that joined trying to get the Nilfisk - forget abt trying to use the ten65off code you get for joining, this once off code is considered 'USED' when one tried to buy the Nilfisk. Even though the order was cancelled. Awesome.

    In any case, if Staples are to be believed, SOME orders were fulfilled - which may mean that at least the OP (dishak) may have gotten his vacuum.

    Really hope u got it dishak, let us know if Staples honoured the deal for you :)

  • Been keeping quiet as I didn't want to jinx anything. We ordered really early, possibly before any comments evens! However, we just received the same email as Zirkaloy. :(

      • Yes, we did. The confirmation also stated a higher price at $119.

  • just got the same email as above "can't supply" but they did send me the brush nozzle kit i orders with the vacuum. anyone want to buy "Brush Nozzle kit" for Nilfisk vacuum?

    • It's ridiculous that Staples has already sent you the brush nozzle kit, which you ordered as an accessory for a vacuum they can't supply?

      If both items were on the same order you would think that the people at Staples should be smart enough to wait until they knew they were able to supply the vacuum, before shipping the accessories.

      If you are out of pocket I'd be asking Staples to give you a refund, after all what good to you is an accessory kit if you don't have the vacuum it fits.

  • I got the backpack vacuum today, was charged $119 even though I used the first voucher ($99 delivered) and was emailed a cancellation notice a day after the initial order confirmation… At the end of the day I'm happy with having the vacuum at that price though so won't bother trying to get the $20 difference sorted

    • I'm pleased to know that even after receiving a cancellation notice at least 1 OzBargainer received their order, even at $110 you still got yourself a great bargain.

      What time on 27th October did you place your order?
