    It's always free.

    • +51

Yeah I have a bunch of free Big w brochures in my letterbox if anyone wants them

      • +27

Well hurry up and post a deal about it before somebody else does!

      • Free click and collect? No minimum spend makes it a deal

  • +9

this is like asking for physical spam

    • This is good for testing the Parcel Locker.

  • +9

I get this delivered to my door without doing anything.

    • +4

Your lucky you live near one, people like me don't get this in the letterbox as the most near one is over 300KM away

  • +53

Dammit, just bought one the other day.

    • +2

See if you can get a price match on your credit card ;-)

  • So people are saying this can't be Brodened?

  • +6

    Is this the bookbook™?

  • +7

Don't know why the neggers are being so douchey about this post.

Not everyone gets this catalogue delivered. My household does on and off each year.

I'm personally not an Ikea fan, but browsing their fat catalogue is still kinda fun (in a sick, twisted, I'm-depressed-and-have-no-life kinda way). So I dislike it when it's not delivered. Ikeas being so sparse, it's not convenient (or worth it) to drive there and pick one up.

I didn't even know you could order one to be delivered like this for free. Pretty handy.

    Poor OP.

    Have a +1 from me.

    • +2

This deal is like signing up for a subscription that has always been free

      • +1

Who has the knife to your throat?

    • +5

Definitely not a deal but maybe should be moved to the forum

  • +1

Dammed if I ever have to pay for a catalogue, and if I never pay for a catalogue I can't consider getting something I always get for free a bargain.

  • +1

Myer charge $5.95 for thier Emporium magazine full of ads, unless you buy something

    • yeah, their catalogues are free though.

    • must explain why their busniess is booming.

  • +8

    Just view it online lol

  • +3

Thank you for posting slong, we in Tassie don't get the Ikea catalogue in the post thanks to you I can order one for FREE.

For other Tassie members who are curious whether they deliver here yes they do :) http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_AU/customer_service/tasmania.html

It's a good example of how some people here only think or care about themselves and vote on deals based on whether they deem a deal good/bad to THEMSELVES only - rather than thinking about the community as a whole.

I try to think about other people when voting. Who else could benefit from this? etc. Not just "I get the catalogue, pfft, this isn't a deal! NEG!".

      Quite selfish really.

  • +12

People aren't very lateral thinkers around here, are they.

This deal is good for people who don't receive the catalogue in the mail. Well done and congratulations if you always receive it. Some don't.

Now this is where the free bit comes in. It would end up costing those people some money to travel to these Ikea stores which are far and few in between. Where is your nearest one? How long would it take you to get there? Petrol? Public transport? Sydney has two - either one would take me at least 40mins in traffic to get to. Not cheap.

Hence a FREE DELIVERY option like this post is pretty cool.

Maybe every poster of deals has to spell this shit out for people around here, just in case they can't see the potential value for other people that exist out there in the community. Cos, you know, it's not always about ME ME ME.

    Believe it or not.

    • -2

Well said waterlogged turnip, just think of the cost of posting the weighty catalogue I am very surprised they don't charge. Unfortunately it is the ME/Look at ME generation we have to contend with, the world is doomed.

      • +2

Yeah, cause the current generation in power have done such a swell job haven't they…

        waiting for the BB negs

        • -5

          "waiting for the BB negs"

          Happy to oblige…

    • those who don't get the catalogue , well they saw this post, must be online….. why don't they just go to ikea website and look at the catalogue from there…..

no vouchers, no extra specials…. nothing, exactly the same as online….

  • +2

    WA?

    • Ikea's prices in WA \ SA \ NT are lower than the eastern states, so this catalogue would particularly useless for you. Between searching their website for products and having a flick through one when you go to a store, there is little benefit in having a hardcopy sent out.

  • +8

Probably more of a forum item?

  • +4

Honestly this catalogue has more entertainment than an awful lot of magazines you'd pay $5 - $10 for.

    • +28

Sit around and ask people to guess what Ikea product names go with what product.

      "Flöurnblunkt?"

      "Uhh… A coffee table?"

      "Wrong! It's a water jug."

Hours of fun to be had.

      • Lawl. More a slight on the magazines.

      • +5

Loads of fun on the Hot Malm website too.

In case nobody has seen it:

        http://hotmalm.com/

        (It's totally SFW).

  • Price match at office works?

Has anybody managed to get JB to match the family discounts, as someone here keeps saying they have a ton of JB giftcards!! LOL!

  • +19

Free Catalouge is not excellent value imo + huge waste of paper. Consider viewing it online!

    • -3

How funny, negging something that's free because it's not excellent value.
      Reason - Waste of paper.
You might want to check, it could be recycled paper.

      • That's actually a valid reason, so long as you agree that the environment has value.

        • They contain at least 10-15% post-consumer waste. No rainforest or old-growth fibres are used. So if it's not used for Ikea, it will be used for paper somewhere else. http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/customerservices/faq#faqAnswers2-7

        • @luke73: recycling still uses plenty of energy. Are their catalogues 100% recycled with not a single tree cut down? In this instance when online is available, it is a waste.

    • +1

Arguing the environmental benefits of viewing online also isn't valid as the carbon produced for the data centres is considerable. Also cost of producing and disposing of the computer equipment and the lifespan of a mobile device is so short it makes this silly.
I will end this now to stop contributing to carbon ….

      • Carbon is the 4th most abundant element in the galaxy. Good luck getting rid of it all. I suppose we could turn it all to diamond, but then we'd all be filthy rich. Filthy rich I tells ya!

        • Diamond is valuable mostly due to scarcity. If it were plentiful, it would be worth much less.

      • Heard of solar panels? Welcome to 1999……

        • Just disconnected my solar hot water panels (pipe connection burst for the 4th time). A giant leap backwards for mankind :-)

        • @muncan: yeah, cause digging stuff up and burning it pushes the boundaries of Homo sapiens' technical ingenuity……

  • +1

It's not available for WA :(

  • +3

Sorry OP, I do not think this is a deal, should be moved to forums, maybe a deal if you get free $5 voucher with it. If this is considered a deal, all catalogues delivered to houses would have to be posted here as deals

  • +6

Remember the days when OzBargain used to have good deals?

    • -1

Ozbargain still have great deals, I just remember the days when all ozbargain members was sensible.

    • yea like last week

  • on a related note, has anyone noticed that the breakfast at ikea in richmond is now $3.49 and the parking is no longer free.

not worth going anymore. ikea used to be packed for breakfast, and now it is dead. when i went on the weekend, the scrambled egg had solidified into a congealed slab, waiting for customers that have gone elsewhere.

  • +1

Just view it online - have you seen how thick it is? Save the whales and all that

  • -1

Christmas Gifts for friends here I come - Thanks Ordered 10!

  • Thanks for posting. I've wanted to receive a paper catalogue although i can download the app. Will try viirtual reality stuff when i receive one :)

  • +16

This is sad. This is forum post not a deal at all. These sort of thing cluttering the main page and make value worthy deals gone over to second page.

Things that have no commercial value eventhough free better off the main page. Ozbargainer looks like a beggar otherwise collecting all the free 5ml parfume, free catalogue, free sample size promotionals

  • I don't see the problem with this, if people are looking at furniture it can lead to a good deal for them in the long run, just because it's free doesn't mean its easy to get, or not a deal (in the long run)

  • this will be helpful my friend wants to go there soon and so do i :) thx

  • -1

what a hideous "deal" something thats always been free and available either delivered or online.

  • +1

Ikea is just cheap particle-board furniture made from illegally harvested wood. They might give their products interesting sounding Nordic names, but that doesn't change the fact that their furniture is bottom of the barrel. For poor folk Ikea might be the only choice available to them, but people who appreciate proper furniture will look elsewhere.

  • +2

These are going to appear on eBay soon

  • +1

Not for SA or WA unfortunately……..

    • Funny how people are making it seem like this is so easy to get at a free price, or that they always get it. Obviously not if 3 states in your country don't get the benefits.

      • +1

This isn't available for SA and WA because this partparticularatalogue would be useless for them. Prices and possibly some products differ a little and (afaik) they're not owned by the same people.

Full online catalogue is free on SA/WAIkea website. That's right, delivered for FREE
        to your screen, immediate postage.

  • Mods, can you please incorporate in to your site a way for members to hide 'bargains' they are not interested in?

    • +1

Can you see the "Hide" button beneath the "Report", "Reminder", and "Bookmark" buttons?

      • It only lets you hide deals from the store, or from the user. Not the individual deal.

Also, my neg was in support of another neg, so shouldn't the other neg be revoked if my neg was? I'm confused :s

        • That little 'x' in the corner, or the back button; what you click to close the deal.

  • -1

While it may not always be available to all people in all areas, it's always free, so I don't see how this is a bargain (besides, Ikea is just around the corner anyway so no need for more junk mail).

  • +1

time to post all the free catalogues to get votes!

    • I will upvote all free junk mail posts. Can mods revoke upvotes?
