Can I Get Some Thoughts on The THL T6 Please?

Good Morning OzBargainers,

Just wondering if the community would be good enough to offer some feedback on the below… THL T6 for $116.99US…

http://www.geekbuying.com/item/THL-T6-Pro-MTK6592M-Octa-Coreā€¦

I'm using Amaysim, so the phone should be just the ticket form that point of view, just wondering thoughts on the phone etc.

Thanks,

  • I would personally recommend to get a "well known" brand like the $99 Huawei G526 or the Nexus 4 deal

Problem with china droids are they can be hit and miss…

  • Only experience with THL was with a w100 and the camera cramped it within a few months, no luck getting it working using any other online tips. Waste because I don't know anyone who doesn't want a camera on their phone

    • I had the same issue with the W8 too — the camera died after flashing the device with a new ROM. Couldn't get it working again even after restoring the stock ROM.

I got it exchanged (thanks to Deal Extreme's return policy) and decided to keep it fully stock now just in case the ROM did in fact break the camera functionality.

The phone was also not very durable either, it's picked up quite a scratches on the camera lens housing and on the display — due to the lack of tempered glass coating.

      • Yeah I never flashed mine, but according to online reports the USB socket puts stress on the part of the board with the camera on it. I took it apart and tried inserting something into it to keep hold of some part people think is loose but to no avail. Apparently ppl complaining about the same thing with the w8. Unfortunately for me as I hadn't used the phone for 8 or so months its was just out of warranty so I figured dx don't care.

TBH I can't see why anyone would take a chance on one of these when the Nexus 4 and g526 deals are running, if you really need the extra features the China phones are providing at the price point you should just save a bit more and get something with a local 12 month warranty
