I have got about 500 pounds leftover from Europe trip last year. There was plan for another trip this year so did not bother selling them but now that plan is canned and I am looking for best place to sell them in Sydney to get the best rate. I bought it from KVB kunlun last year and still got the receipt from them but they charge $10 commission now so I am not sure they are the best place still for offloading such a small amount(500 GBP). As always I really appreciate feedback from knowledgeable folks here.

Hi Mate. Rate changes daily, even hourly. We can do what I & Superbass did when i bought about 900 Euros from him from this thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/106494. Process was download Xe app; meet at a bank branch (for security reasons) looks at current exchange rate and swap foreign currency for AUD. This way both parties get the best rate. But I am looking to sell these in next week or two; I wish i could wait till next june with AUD getting weaker everyday it could be worth a lot more but i need money before xmas

I always offload foreign spare currency at Flight Centre foreign currency counter, they give better rates than banks, and do not charge commission, of course if you can sell to someone, it's better.

Sit on it. With the way the Australian dollar is going right now, you could turn a tidy profit. The pound is recovering also.
