Xbox One: Will It Be Cheaper?

I'm a casual gamer. I love Halo so you know i'm anticipating a Master Chief Collection Bundle. I don't know whether to bite the bullet and go with the JB Hi-Fi deal for the Xbone for $599 including 5 games (AC 4, AC U, SO, CODAW, Dance Central) plus kinect. I really don't have the desire to play those games. I really just want the master chief collection.

What do you /b/ros think?

P.S the /b/ stands for bargain…not random

According to this post you will be able to get Halo Master Chief Collection in the bundle offered at Target
Xbox One Console Kinect + Halo Master Chief + AC Unity + AC BF + Dance Central Spotlight + Rayman Legends + Trials Fusion $599
If your not interested in the extra games you could just sell them off on gumtree bringing the total cost down.

    • comparing to the microsoft store bundle, it's shite

    no it wont

I think it will get cheaper. MS want to sell consoles as they are dissapointed in sales figures. And with Christmas coming, and a slim version apparently in development the price will keep going down. I would only be tempted by the $480 Microsoft store bundle if it includes Sunset OD, MCC and Forza Horizon 2 + 12 mths live. Otherwise it can wait.

    • Exactly how i feel dude. I might just linger around until the 12th (when the Jb deal ends)

Of course there is a slim in development for both xbone and ps4, but pretty sure they will be at least another year off, ie next Christmas.

So, it'll release before any games do?

        • +1

What are you talking about, if you dont have a gaming pc, theres already going to be quite a few exclusives. Destiny, Halo, Sunset overdrive, AC:U, Forza horizon 2 etc.

        • -1

@RI4V4N: I'm sorry, but Destiny is an exclusive? How do I have it on PS3 then?

Theories are Sunset Overdrive is likely to jump platforms by 2016, due to the IP being retained by Insomniac (Which Sony never let Insomniac do, because they wanted to keep Ratchet and Resistance, etc) But everyone says it's just Crackdown 2.0. And I've got Crackdown.

And yes. We all need another Assassin's Creed game this year. Or two. Two should suffice. If I really lose sleep over it, I'll get Rogue. (But I won't lose sleep) Also this http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/assassins-creed-unit…

          Halo

If you're talking about the Master Chief collection, I already own all of those. If you're talking about 5, after 4's performance I can't be upset about missing out.

You could've said Shadow of Mordor. It's on the PS3 and 360 yes, but the Nemesis System got hard nerfed, so, that's the entire selling point, so you gotta buy it on next gen. +1 to next gen.

Oh wow. When you just said "Sunset OD" it made me realize something.

The Xbone's biggest exclusive is SOD. Quality naming work so far.

What's next? 'Courageous Odyssey of Combat Kingdom'?

  • check out the Dicksmith deal on right now!

  • Australia is not getting the $50 price cut but we are getting better bundles, the Microsoft deals end soon and they are still out of stock on the good games

  • +1

If the Microsoft site updates with more stock for games, the bundles there including 12 months live are good deal(s). Otherwise, JB's deal for $599 is the best atm IMO. If you care little for Kinect and most of the games (like me, I just want to buy a Halo box), you could sell everything bar Horizon 2 and Unity and bring the price closer to $400.

Whelp, new JB Hifi bundles - all they did was replace Sunset OD with Watch Dogs. Bit unfortunate.

The Xbox.com.au site now has too few games available for the bundles so you can't even buy from there at the moment. The $499 bundle with 4 games and Live for example, requires you to select two games to bundle but only has Project Spark (snore) in stock.

Anyone who's desperate right now, looks like the Target deal is the best thing available (see a few posts above). Real lame by Microsoft - you just launched your biggest game for the console yet, make it easy for us to buy the damn thing.

they reduced it to only 2 games!! poor deals now. Microsoft is not interested in selling consoles it seems.

        ~Microsoft Marketing Department~

Hmm, we're launching the biggest game on the Xbox One to date… what can we do to maximise our sales during this period? What if we… stopped stocking our online store and left it up to retailers to make bundles of their own?

Microsoft, pls fire everyone in your AU arm because they don't know what they're doing.

Anyway their bundle, even with just two games, still compares somewhat with the JB and Target deals since you get 12 months Live. If they put up new games to bundle with it (eg SSOD + FH2), it'd be alright (4 games, 12 months live, $499 incl delivery). Just not absurdly good as it was a fortnight ago.

  • Will they ever make the Xbox One backwards compatible?

  • i reckon wait closer to xmas or even after xmas

i'm only interested in FH2 so none of these bundles make me wanna buy
