Cheapest Way to Buy an Australian (Not Grey Market) iPhone 5S 32GB?

Hey Everyone,
The Mrs wants an iPhone and no I can't convince her out of it. I'm thinking of getting her an iPhone 5S 32 GB.

Can anyone tell me the cheapest way to get it is ?

I wanted to buy it from Myer because I have 200$ worth of Myer gift cards,

Also Going overseas soon, so will get GST back.

Any suggestions ? Also myer website is horrible doesn't even list a price for the iPhones

Here's their iphone page, that does not have any prices..
http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/electrical/apple/apple-i…

Here's the comparison PDF from their site but no Prices

PS, Can we use Gift cards to buy Apple stuff at Myer or elsewhere ? for exp I am also an RACV member.

Dick sometimes has 10% off everything

(plus use your wish cards from RACV for another 5% off that.

    • Thanks Good Idea, will keep an eye out.

  • Why do you want to buy Australian stock? Do you really enjoy being ripped off?

Until we vote with our wallets, Australians will continue getting ripped off because manufacturers can see that people here are more than happy to pay exorbitant costs for products which are worth much less as shown around the world.

Purchasing within Australia only is bad for us because it allows manufacturers to keep jacking prices up and it acts as a barrier to PPP (purchasing power parity). Usually, it should be more expensive for us to purchase internationally, as individual shipping costs will outweigh bulk shipping costs for manufacturers to import. Buying products within Australia is going against this and is just setting ourselves up to get ripped off more.

    • Why do you want to buy Australian stock?

Mainly because overseas will not get here in time, I have to leave in 3 weeks and need the phone by then,

Also if I get the GST back anyway, there's not much difference.

      • If you're going overseas, you might want to purchase one when you are overseas, especially if you're going somewhere which sells for cheaper than Australia

        • That is indeed an Idea,Thx
Do you know how it works with Apple Warranties?
If I buy overseas Can I get Apply warranty locally ?

Hong Kong has the same model 5s as we do. No tax.
          RRP HK$5,088 around AU$760

However, the same 5s at the Australian Apple stores is
RRP AU$799 less GST around AU$726

        • @dealman:

          That is indeed an Idea

Yes, an idea, but a bad idea.

Do you know how it works with Apple Warranties?

          Yes, I do.

If I buy overseas Can I get Apply (sic) warranty locally ?

No, and even if you did it would be only for 12 months.

    • Why do you want to buy Australian stock?

      Probably for:-
      Local warranty support.
      A two year consumer guaranty.

There is not too much of a difference when comparing the prices of an unlocked iP5s that has AU LTE Bands. It is only around the cost of the GST.
