Where can I buy fruit trees?

hi all,

Can anyone recommend a nice decent place that I can buy some fruit trees from? I am looking to buy plum, lemon, orange and others (Not sure what).

Thanks

  • bunning warehouse, flower power, etc

  • Most nurseries

  • Go to a local independent type nursery for decent advice for your area. A fruit tree is going to be there a while so you want to get something that is going to perform and give results after the first few years. There are heaps of variety around now.

Some of the multigrafted ones might be worth looking at. ie a Fruit Salad tree.

Daley's online nursery has best range if you are after heritage/special conditions. They have LOTS of different fruit trees. They are up north so also stock lots of tropical varieties too.
If you are after plums/stone fruit you have missed the boat as they are sold in winter when they are dormant. Have a look at Woodbridge fruit trees online for a wide variety of apples, pears and stonefruit.

    Good luck!

    • Thanks withgusto. So planting stone trees now isnt a good idea?

      • When they have no leaves they are sold as bare rooted stock. If you transplant when active you knock all the rootlets off…

Masters offer a 1 year guarantee that your plants will survive.

    • Handy to know. We don't have a Masters here but getting one in a year or two.

We just planted a heap of native shrubs out the front. Half died with some severe heat while we were away. The 1 year guarantee would have been handy dandy!

    • I just bought some from Masters and didn't know about this.
      Thanks for the heads up.

    Thank you all! Awesome suggestions.

Yeah not sure about the seasons, but recently did some landscaping and planing some fruitful trees along the side would complement very nicely.

Bunnings and masters both offer 1 year guarantee. Bunnings trees are around $30-$50, i was hoping for something cheaper, and maybe had some more progress (maybe 2 years old?).. New to this game.

    • If you want cheaper than Bunnings/Masters, try Gumtree.
