have used them a couple of times now.

    pretty good service
    good prices
    postage is free

like, there is just no way i could find a USB3 2'5 SATA disk enclosure for the 9$ they are asking - and thats delivered.
and its actually a pretty cool device

  • usually how soon would the item get posted and arrive?
    1 week?

    • +2

I ordered on Sunday (the eBay toy sale offer), and it arrived on Wednesday through Australia Post (tracked).

It's a great device, and I was happy with the service from Mushtato.

      • +2

I got mine fast too, extremely happy with Mushtato

        • waiting game now~~~3 more days !!!

Hopefully it's not sold out before I jump on this deal…@__@

  • +1

Was going to grab one of these from DWI for $25. Good timing that this pops up so I'll now get it locally from Mushtato instead.

Does the packaging come sealed? Is it too heavy to carry around in jeans?

    • +2

      How:
      strong are you?
      Big are your pockets?

Kidding: they'd be a little large (thick) for jeans. I keep mine in the front-access compartment of my pack.

Great unit. I get 4-5 charges on my s3

      • Thanks. Thought it'd be too thick. Will just carry it in the messenger bag then. Should get 3-4 charges on a Xperia Z1.

  • +1

purchased via the recent ebay deal - postage was super quick

  • Not a bad price. The cheapest I have managed to get one was at a sniff over $20. Great little units there are, I have a few at my place. Works fine with iPhones and my One Plus One.

  • Bought the cheap display port to hdmi cable from them last time but the cable seemed to be crappy, image just flicked every second. Anyone has the same quality issue?

  • +1

Can anyone confirm if these are genuine ones?

    • +3

Yeah these are genuine, over time only Mushtato have been reliable with delivering genuine Xiaomis'. They generally opened a few sealed ones in each batch just so check the internals thoroughly.

The risk is usually with the well known china sites and eBay, you never know what you'll get.

    • +1

Yup I can personally confirm the one I received from them is genuine. I posted a few photos of the internals in a previous post.

      • Here also, genuine and fast delivery. Great to get local with Aussy warranty ( if they play along nicely ).

  • +2

    Great price, thanks OP

quality genuine product compared to other power banks

  • Where do I post the screenshot of me sharing the event for the chance to win the draw? on their fb page?

  • Annoying thing about these power banks is that it doesn't automatically charge your device as soon as you plug it in. You have to press the power button for it to start to charge.

    • +1

      these power banks

PBs in general, maybe. This one is an exception to that. Detects when a device is connected & starts auto charging.

      • I bought one from Bang Good a few months ago and it seems genuine based on the exterior and code look up but mine does not auto charge when I plug my phone into it.

        • Genuine xiaomi power banks are designed that way to not charge as soon as the battery is connected to phone. Only the counterfeits automatically charge.

Also genuine xiaomi PB will allow pass thru charging and short circuit protection (bridge usb/micro usb together)

        • @t25:
Thanks for that info, didn't know that. Would've thought the product would be better if it automatically charges.
I only use mine at night to charge my phone so if I forget to press the button, I wake up with a near depleted phone.

        • +1

          @t25:
Umm, I think that's the wrong way around - Genuine Xiami 10400 charges without pressing power button. Many website reviews of the genuine product mention this.

OOPS, I read further down and can see you're aware of that now :)

    • The three different branded ones I bought in the past are the same. All need to press a button to start charging. It's not hard because there's very few buttons. I think it's a general thing.

    • +2

I beg to differ.I have a genuine one and i do not need to press any button for it to charge the phone. I just plug in the usb cable in to the phone and the powerbank and it starts charging.

This review agrees with me as well….

      http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/review-xiaomis-10400mah-mi-po…

"In case you’re wondering, a power button isn’t really required, because the power bank will automatically turn on and charge the device when both are connected with a USB cable. The purpose of the capacity check button (when you press it) is to turn on the LEDs to tell you how much charge is left."

      • same here

      • thats interesting….

i was going on information based on this

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=obYhT…

        • +2

Huh?I checked out that video on you tube and it says at 2:48 "The Genuine product immediately starts charging the device when connected". So the video agrees with me as well…..

        • @techno2000:

and it also says that the counterfeit one won't start charging until the button is pressed..

        • @techno2000: what the hell was i thinking…. ive gone back and rewatched the video and yes you are right.

        • You guys scared me for a few minutes until I watched the video.

I leave my the USB cable connected to the PB and only plug the lightning part of the cable to my phone. If you do this, then you'll need to press the power button for it to start charging.

If you plug the cable into your phone then plug the USB into the PB, it'll will charge automatically.

        • +2

@PoorStudent: Maybe iPhones are different. With my standard micro USB cable, it doesn't matter. I can leave the cable plugged in to the power bank or the phone - the power bank wakes up regardless.

      • I bought my xiaomi PB from the official xiaomi online store for around 12 AUD in China. I tried the PB with my Nexus 5 today. I left my fully charged PB in my draw for couples weeks before and never used it. I connected my phone to the PB without pressing the power button and I found the the phone was not charged.Once I pressed the button, the PB started charging. Then I disconnected the phone and reconnected it to the PB, the PB recolonized the phone immediately and continued the charging process. So I guess the PB would be turned off if it's not charging after a certain period of time. The power button could wake it up from the resting state.

        • PB stops charging once it finds the phone battery is charged full..so then the phone discharge would have been started.. To wake up the PB and enable charging again you will need to push the button

  • Just confirming Xiaomi powerbank support pass through charging correct ?

  • wow, i usually buy these for $12 delivered, aussies always getting the shafted end :(

    • is it genuine though? Just too many fake ones out there

      • yeah, its from xiaomi direct, they post the deals at mi.com/my usually every tuesdays,

just pity that you guys are paying double…

        • But they're always out of stock …

Did you get it delivered to address in Malaysia?

        • @skyl: yeap, to malaysian address

and yes, they restrict their supply a lot to make sure everyone keeps visiting their FB page, its like a cult following similar to the likes of Apple fans.

the 'out of stock' is a farce, they are more than capable to sell as many as they want because demand is always high

i guess if you guys are getting the genuine stuff then the price is alright in a free (willing buyer) market

i bought a ton of it a few months back and gifted them to relatives in Melbourne :p

        • +3

@annoynimous: maybe you could get your contacts to buy some in Malaysia and resell them to oz bargainers.

        • put it on ebay and tell us before you upload the selling form. do u think u can do it cheaper than mushtato? if not cheaper, then it's not comparable between buying in Malaysia and Australia.
in here xiaomi $12 + at least $6 postage + $2 handling/packaging fee are already touch $20. where's the profit?

I can say the same thing too about many prices in Australia when I am on holiday overseas. yes, we pay a lot more.

but if u compare branded clothing here and overseas, we're lucky we can get it cheaper here when it's on sale. not to mention if the suckers overseas buy counterfeit items with luxury price:p

        • +1

          @brongz: Thanks for elaborating.
Postage with tracking facility cost 7.60 at least, as we always want to make sure parcels get to our customer ASAP providing a tracking detail is very much helpful.
Not taken consideration of GST and importing charges.

        • @brongz:

Then there is the cost of warranty, it remains to be seen how durable these things are. Or how long the battery efficiency/charge holding will last.

I dropped mine from stomach height, put a tiny dent into the frame at the power button. Still charges fine, so I'm pretty happy.

There is an entire new spectrum when it comes to counterfeit clothes when you shop overseas. Theres the shitty ones that don't even try to be have the same texture/feel and there are the top grade counterfeit ones that only an expert can differentiate.
Sometimes these high quality counterfeit are actually from factory bosses making excess from the same original production run. Stolen genuine are also often sold alongside or mixed into the counterfeit.
It is so hard to tell that if I cannot afford to buy it at the store, I don't risk trying to find a bargain.

  • Service was good ! Delivered pretty fast !!

Stay away from banggood.. I ordered from them, never received the item.

    • Thanks for supporting OZ business, cheers

  • What's the link to their website or eBay store?

  • So can I get 3-4 charges for iPhone plus with one of these? If yes instant buy!

  • How long does it take to charge the power bank?

    • 5.5 hrs with 5V/2A plug and standard cable
12 hrs with 5V/1A plug and standard cable
      Source: http://www.mi.com/en/mipowerbank10400

      • @FernandoWho, thank you

        • I'd take those figures with a grain of salt. I only managed to get a charge time of 5 hours 40 minutes if I used a 5.3V 2A charger. With a 5V 2A charger, it took 6 hours and 42 minutes.

          Some details here

  • reminder set :)

  • +1

    Hopefully pistons next

  • Could this be used to power an in-car GPS (e.g. TomTom, Mio Moov) so as to free up the car cigarette charger on road trips? That is to say, have the GPS powered on and in use and receiving a charge from the powerbank?

The battery on my GPS unit is fried and only holds a couple of minutes of charge at best now. It still works relatively well when connected to the car ciggarette socket charger however it kills the gps session if someone wants to give their phone a quick charge.

    • I wouldn't see why not. You could also get a car charger with two charging sockets.

Keep in mind that heat kills lithium ion batteries btw. If you leave it in a hot car, its lifespan will be shortened more rapidly.

      • Everyone listen to eug, as he's pro … :)

    • Yes i have tested powering my TomTom with this powerbank and it worked fine. But wouldnt it be better to use the powerbank to charge your phone and let the car powersocket keep your GPS powered?
