agreed, these Quality Street are quite awful! Also, Toblerone is cheaper in Kmart or Big W anyway as many people have pointed out previously. no deal here I am afraid.

      • They're not too bad.

I like the Orange and Strawberry flavoured ones.

OP, you'd better add "Chocolate" or "Choc" after "Nestle" in the title

Was confused what "Nestle Quality Street" is?

If this is chocolate candy, how nasty can it taste that make people spit it out? Hard to believe it unless its taste is extreme: super sour, salty, bitter, etc.

I bought some before and they were completely inedible. Somebody in a previous post mentioned that some are made here, some are made in the UK, and the UK ones use different ingredients which actually taste OK. I think the Woolies ones are made in the UK, the Coles ones are made in Aus, but don't quote me on that.

The inedible ones use high fructose corn syrup and palm oil, and the chocolate isn't creamy and doesn't even melt. It's like eating solidified caramelised, crystallised sugar. Of course, some people may like that candy-floss taste, it's all subjective.

Here's the ingredients list from the Canadian website, can't find any info on the Aussie website:

I've never tasted asphalt, but can imagine it's about as tasty as these chocolates. So "Quality Street" is probably right on the mark and we can't hound them for false advertising.

  • These went out of fashion for a reason they just don't taste that great by today's standards, but plenty of nostalgia nonetheless.

    • Where are the after dinner mints?

Waiting for further price drop to $5. Then it would be a good deal

I got a couple of the $10 Woolies 750 gm tins made in the UK and they're lovely.

  • 1kg bag of sugar is $1
