Buy a mcdonalds, then another, then another, then buy a mclaren f1. True story.

    • Mc? would it be that cheap?

      • I think $200k is enough to secure a loan for the rest.

No not at all and existing owners a given the chance to buy first. 200k x 5 maybe.

  • Put it in an ING Savings Maximiser to get 4%pa for now

    • sure is. cheers

    • ubank rate is higher at 4.02%

    • ING Savings Maximiser 4% rate is only on the first 100K

  • well..nothing come up as close yet..

  • Set up a brothel. Make it cash only. The gift that keeps on giving!

  • What is your discipline? Blue collar white collar?

If you and wife can do handy work and paper work, consider buying management right. I always thought it's a good set-up for young family: the husband can still work, full time or part time, and do the maintenance after work. Wife stays home with kids, and keep an eye out for the property.

  • Another thing, seeing you have new family, here's my two cents: spend your money sensibly, don't splash it like some people I know. Your $200k will disappear before you know it. Buy second hand as much as you could. I suspect you'd dearly love to buy for your new baby: new pram, cot, clothes, bassinet, car seat, curtains, furniture…..

    • thanks for a tip
