while i applaud this initiative i'm not a fan of kilometer long queues to buy petrol

    • Funny how most people probably only save $10-20, so to spend an hour in a queue really isn't worth it.

    No apps for my phones.

    • No problem alvian, you can still use the Loyalty Card which features a QR code to get the deal!

  • Nice, but I'm still good for the rest of November with Shop Small AMEX. Half price petrol so gewwwd..

    • which petrol station is participating in shop small Amex promotion?

      • Metro, speedway, budget etc.. just search for it in their locator

  • certified local? is that another way of saying, if you're out of town we don't want you? while i understand you need to support locals where possible, these guys should remember Australia in general is built on tourism and welcoming paying foreign visitors, not discriminating against them, 'certified local'? ppfffttt! more like 'suburban snob'!

    • No, they mean 'Certifiable' locals.. You know, the poor sods that stay in long drawn out lines on the street.

      • haha! yeah, 'certifiable' as in 'you gotta be looney to wait half a day in this queue'! still, if you bring a couple of jerry cans with you it might make it worthwhile

    • "Certified Locals" refers to local independent businesses where you can use the Certified Locals app or Loyalty Card to collect or redeem points for a range of offers.

      Check out their FAQ Page

      • so you don't have to prove you are a local? if not, my bad!

        • No, you don't have to prove you're a local. All you need to do as a customer is get yourself the app or the loyalty card and take advantage of the different deals!

        • @TurtleDove: cheers, might just do that

  • This post is a bit deceiving. I assumed that all Budget Petrols would have the discounted rate but the rate will only apply for ONE store, which will be released tomorrow.. That sucks, considering I have one up the road but it'll probably be one on the other side of the state lol :(

      its a waste of time

they may as well post what suburb it is now… if its somewhere close people might be interested but obviously most people will be disappointed

    Budget Petrol Petersham tomorrow 8-9am

  • I wonder that their 1L really = 1L???

    • There's a TON of time, labour, engineering & technology involved in fuel systems. It's not a simple tweak the console operator can play with.

The average small-medium station can cost $1mil just in fuel-systems & environmental (earthworks, tank-farm etc.), not to mention the shop, canopy, everything else.

It's INSANE how much goes into something we need to simply buy the weekly energy-drink deal, newspaper, or fill the tank.
