What kind of gumby downvotes this guys post and doesn't even reply? God voting systems in comments are the worst thing on the internet.

      bellpop: no idea, sorry.

      • no biggie. I guess if it wasn't a designated chill day if have googled it. All good :)

If you still need to know, know you can't, it uses an Ultrabook class U-Series processor. I imagine it would be soldered onto the motherboard.

Current Mac Mini's don't use desktop parts. They use laptop chips and memory, so no.

For Apple Mac users I suggest bookmarking http://www.everymac.com/ as it gives you some pretty decent information on what the specifications of your rigs are and whether they are upgradable.

Or better yet I suggest bookmarking MSY and building your own rig :)

As far as stupid questions go, this is certainly up there, but that's to be expected from Apple consumers (for the record, I didn't neg him).

Simultaneously asking whether an Apple product is designed to be user serviceable and upgradeable and whether a desktop CPU can go into a laptop (or a pseudo-laptop in this case).

Nevermind the enigma of why anyone with a Mac Mini would be doing something with it that required more CPU power when it's a glorified media player box/overpriced HTPC.

The post-2012 Mac Minis have their RAM and CPUs soldered onto the motherboard, so they're not even removable to begin with.

  • Not a bad price and considering CPU's are super super rare to go faulty, v.little risk in importing.

  • Why is it 'free delivery is for those who are eligible'. It seems i am not legible. Who is?

    • AMEX card holders, but conversion rate and 3% surcharge, how much would that be?

      • My AMEX got charged $348.45 AUD

        • Thats not bad at all.

  • Is it better to place order in AUD or USD if paying with CBA credit card?
