    Before anyone asks, yes, these are Halal and are accredited by the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils.

    • -5

      That's no good :(

      • -6

        Unless you want to buy Halal… Then it is good.

        I'm more concerned by having to pay extra to fund the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils who refuse to state what they do with the money.

        • -4

          Well we all know what they do with the money…

        • +4

          @EVL:

          No, I don't… Please enlighten me with your obvious wisdom

        • +1

          @jv:

          Do you ask everyone you intend on buying something from what they intend to do with their profits?

          Or, due to it being 'islamic' can we set different rules and pretend we aren't being an ignorant and discriminating country?

        • +2

          @SBOB:

          Do you ask everyone you intend on buying something from what they intend to do with their profits?

          I'm not talking about what Lilydale Farms do with their money, I'm talking about funding a Religious organisation that I'm not part of, and I don't want to fund…

        • @jv:

          I hope you don't eat at the Pancake Parlour.

        • @bxpressiv:

          I hope you don't eat at the Pancake Parlour.

          No I don't… Although I hear Tom Cruise is a big fan.

          And I don't buy Sanitarium products either…

        • +1

          @jv: So I guess that on that basis, eating Weetbix is off the table then?

        • @jv:

          Ever bought a pirated DVD back in the day from Bali or the like?

        • +1

          @adelee:

          eating Weetbix is off the table

          I've already said that I don't. Can't you read ?

        • +6

          @bxpressiv:

          Ever bought a pirated DVD

          Why, are they Halal ?

        • @jv:

          No, there's just information to suggest that a portion of the income stream from it was funding terrorist organisations.

        • @bxpressiv:

          No, there's just information to suggest that a portion of the income stream from it was funding terrorist organisations.

          Yet, when they were asked, they refused to confirm this… Why ?

        • @jv:

          Why should they answer to scaremongering rednecks who don't put up any facts, because they have none. Where is the inquisition into Kosher certification funds going to the persecution and murder of Palestinian children??

        • +4

          Are we paying extra? The voucher is for 50% off.

        • -2

          @Bhot:

          Why should they answer to scaremongering rednecks

          What makes you think the interviewers on 3aw are rednecks?

          I think it's quite reasonable to know if the money you are spending is being used to fund terrorists.

        • @Bhot:

          Where is the inquisition into Kosher certification funds

          My understanding is that there are no additional costs in getting Kosher certification, or so they said in the same interview.

        • +4

          Why answer? To provide information. Not answering indicates they don't want to provide that information for some reason. If they have nothing to hide, that's kinda stupid in the current environment, wouldn't you think?

          An inquisition into the zero dollars? And people wonder why answers are wanted, with responses like that…

        • @jv:

          It would be reasonable if the questioning had any evidence of facts to support it. Not an appeal to the growing anti Muslim hysteria fuelled by the media.

        • +5

          @Bhot: This is not difficult - refute the claims, then people will stop saying it. Not refuting them when you have the perfect opportunity is idiotic, and makes people assume, quite reasonably, that they CAN'T be refuted.

          This is PR101.

        • +1

          @Bhot:

          It would be reasonable if the questioning had any evidence of facts to support it.

          Answering that they don't fund terrorists would put an end to the speculation. Why did they refuse to answer the question? What is their agenda? Are they trying to encourage this "Muslim hysteria fuelled by the media" that you talk about ???

        • +1

          @jv: Yes I can read, however you edited your original comment seconds before I posted mine.

        • +1

          Isn't this about chicken?

          LOL jv 80% of OzBaragin is halal

          eneloops are halal ?????????

        • -1

          @jv: So don't fund it. Simple. I do not even know why you are bringing it up other than to discriminate against Muslims.

        • +2

          @Diji1:

          I do not even know why you are bringing it up

          So people are informed and can make up their own minds whether or not they want to financially support the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils…

          to discriminate against Muslims.

          Choosing not to financially support a religious organisation that you are not a member of is not discrimination…

          Do you donate to the Catholics? Hindus? Buddhists? Pagans??? If the answer is no to any of these, does that mean you are discriminating against them ???

        • +1

          Wow how paranoid can you be? You honestly think an obviously huge islamic organisation in Australia is covertly funding terrorism? And its just a secret that 3AW and all its listeners are privy to?

          With the ridiculously stringent and targeted anti-terror laws you don't think they would've checked out one of the largest islamic organisations?

          Get yourself checked. They have NO obligation to answer every bit of hate that gets thrown at them. I find these sort of baseless accusations disgusting

        • +1

          @jv: Wrong. A quick google search will tell you otherwise (link). Might be time to start listening to another station, no?

          http://www.ka.org.au/index.php/Kosher_Certification_Guidelin…
          https://www.kosher.org.au/content/certification-process

          From my brief look into it, Kosher requirements appear to be more stringent than halal ones are.

        • @jv: check your facts first jv before you make a fool and a tool of yourself whilst fueling xenophobia. All certification - kosher, halal, reply, quality ISO etc comes for a price.

  • +8

    Also, please note these chickens are not from Lilydale. Their farms are in NSW and SA.

    • +9

      As someone who used to catch the train from the station there, this is a good thing.

    My wife and I just had a baby… And this whole breastfeeding thing is all new to us. She sent me out looking for breast pads, breast support pillows and all kinds of crazy stuff this week.

    When I read the title… Breast skewers, I thought this was ANOTHER thing that I had to buy. Fortunately, it was just chicken!

    • +5

      Maybe you can combine the two and get Breast Nibbles ?

      (Congratulations by the way…)

    • Your wife is probably happier than you are, TBH…

    • +9

      When I read the title "Breast skewers," I cringed and held my chest a little.

  • +3

    50% off breasts? My kind of deal.

    • +9

      Prefer 50% more breasts….

      • +1

        i guess you would if you had donuts for eyes…

    • Breast is best.

    • +5

      Woah woah woah we gotta bury that link, it could curb the hysteria.

    • +4

      Facts don't work when it comes to arguing with ignorance ;)

      • +2

        Yeah. Who wants those boring things when you have 3AW to inform you about things relating to Muslims in Australia.

        It's not like they're always going after minorities in Australia to excite their listeners who for some reason just take it all in without questioning the reasons for 3AW doing this. Oh but wait that's just what they do and Muslim's are currently the push button issue.

        You can only assume listeners allow this because they enjoy it when 3AW goes after minorities because could easily find out that 3AW is doing this by spending about a minute of their time on Google. This would preclude having the enjoyment though.

        • +3

          Our primal instincts are one of our strongest drives.

          The media loves to appeal to the primal brain. It is much like retreating from a prop moving towards you at a themepark/show. If you thought it about it you would know you are safe, most people do not think about it, they just respond. The media loves generating strong passionate knee jerk reactions by appealing to the fear of terrorist activities. As what you said, it excites viewers (stimulated primal brain) and it also quickly improves their "popularity", ratings and viewership by "confirming" people's fears.

          Another strong appeal to the primal brain is bringing kids into the picture. Parent's (especially moms) become almost instinctive when it comes to protecting their babies. That is how the anti vaxers got such a strong foot hold.

        • -2

          Yeah. Who wants those boring things when you have 3AW to inform you about things relating to Muslims in Australia.

          LOL, are you aware that page was added AFTER they refused to answer the questions on radio…

          http://web.archive.org/web/20140729073751/http://www.halal-a…

          Maybe they weren't sure of the answers, and they had to go and check?

          Anyway, people in this country should be free to decide whether or not they want to fund religious organisations, without fear that they will be called racists by these groups…

        • +2

          @jv: I agree they should be free to decide that.

          But they are not free to defame organisations on baseless accusations.

          Anyway, looks like the link clear up whatever misunderstandings most people had

        • @jv: And 3AW is just the station to have an unprejudiced, unbiased and informed debate on…..and jv is just the man to facilitate an informed discussion, full of facts and free of conjecture.

    • Last sentence in the post says not available in WA. Too far to travel.

  • Thanks to the F.T.A

  • Had some wing nibbles last night on the BBQ, pretty tasty, too exxy at full price though.
