The ad says in big red text "Just 1.8 cm thin and weighing a mere 1 kg" - but if you look further down it says from 1.1kg and 1.8~2.5cm (H).
dont tell me your new to marketing.
plus are u even gunna notice 0.1kg and the thickness is referring to its thinnest point which is 1.8cm.
when they marketted the macbook air. they focused on the thinnest area too when describing it as the "world's thinnest notebook" although the thickest area still qualified it for that title, the point is, its just marketing so dont be so surprised.
2.5cm is really thin anyways! i still reckon the 1005 series (clamshell) look alot better and are better value (and thinner). This is a great deal for those who want professional looking.
I think you can double check the specs on the ASUS website :)
It does say:
