Did anyone end up getting their Trackr?

Here's the deal in question: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/152225

As you can see the deal was in July. On the 21st I got an email saying I was only in boarding group 3. To get higher in the queue I should promote the product (referral, sharing links etc)

17 Nov I get another email saying they shipped extras and will only do 100 more devices:

We've shipped over $100,000 more than the promised amount and people have continued to sign up. We will be giving away just 100 more TrackR devices before we officially end the giveaway this Friday at 5pm PST. If you are in the top 100 in line, you will receive a TrackR device. You can check your position in line at http://www.thetrackr.com/giveaway

When I clicked the link it said to use the link in the email. I did, got some error saying I should use link from email. I just took it as I'm not one of the lucky ones.

Today I get an email indicating they're giving away another 1,000 devices. This time we're on the "naughty" list until we promote the product again. So in order to remain on this nice list, I have to keep promoting this product which I have little faith in, only to have a chance in receiving.

Maybe I'm a little sour because I didn't get any of the first shipments, I dunno. Personally to me, this is just poor tactic to have if you want returning customers. Yes, you may get the odd returning customer because its a free product, but they're not the loyal fanbase you're looking for.

Is someone able to convince me otherwise?

US residents and addresses only I'd say. Doubt you'd get it.

Other apps already out there and even stickers that seem slimmer than those trackr tokens.

    • What other ones would you recommend?

      • None right now. Don't use it to keep track of keys etc, just common sense and memory habit to put them in the same place each time.

        Keep my phone near me.

Just do a search for NFC and Bluetooth beacons etc
