COTD - Poor Shipping Service!

I placed an order on COTD and paid by Paypal on 13th Sep. Today (30th Sep - 17 days waiting) I'm still waiting for item delivered to me.

On 16th Sep, i received an email from COTD and was told the item has been dispatched with AU Post, today I called AU Post and was told that there is some issue with COTD, AU Post haven't received the item from COTD yet.

Very bad experience with COTD!!

  • Don't stress. COTD will work with you to sort it out. Your AusPost tracking number will tell you its whereabout. Once the item is with AusPost, it is AusPost's responsibility to deliver the item to your door. AusPost should be able to tell you if the item been delivered to your local post office.

I recently bought a printer from COTD and received a parcel notice in my letterbox to collect it at my local postoffice. when I got there, they couldn't find my printer!!. Long story short, my printer 'mysteriously' disappeared and the postal staff couldnt do anything about it. After 4 weeks of waiting for AusPost to go through their investigations, they advised me that due to a staff error, my printer had vanished so their advice to me is to contact COTD to lodge a compensation claim. I contacted COTD and explained my situation and COTD was kind enough to send me a replacement printer without further delays.

I've ordered about 10 items from COTD in total.. all have arrived OK.

We are quickly becoming a generation of I want it NOW! :)

  • Thanks Stevo and H4lcyon.

Rest assured Bctransit, we will work with you to find the item.

Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if needed: [email protected]

    • email sent, ref. no: 622700

I have bought several items from COTD. They've been good with shipping, etc. Keep in contact with them.

  • I think the experience lies with the carrier more so than CotD. Best of luck, hope for a positive outcome.

  • Sorry, i still waiting for the item…

the communications from COTD yesterday doesn't help at all…

QQQ, I really need to receive the item by tomorrow as it is gift I'm giving out this weekend!!!

  • QQQ, can you give me a feedback ASAP? I sent you guys emails this afternoon and didn't get any feedback from COTD!! 18 days now!!

  • Looking into this again, we called Post yesterday and they had it in transit (maybe the same people who told you we hadn't shipped it)…

I'd actually trust Aust Post over COTD - I have had several bad experiences with COTD myself & I also remember the ex-employees blog which talks about COTD selling stuff they dont even have in stock yet and wont get for a while, and then lying about shipping it out and blaming Aust Post/couriers.

I was told by COTD that the parcel is lost by AU Post. From the customer's point of view I believe this is COTD's responsibility because the shipping is managed by COTD (shipping is part of the services they are providing and they choose AU Post for the shipping, no by the cutomer). COTD didn't contact AU Post on Thursday because the staff was sick — I don't understand why other staff can't contact AU Post to trace it up??? Also i don't understand why they can't confirm that the parcel was lost on Wednesday when they called AU Post

finally I missed the date to give the item out as a gift on the weekend. Hopefully the parcel will be delivered on the coming Monday or Tuesday (re-send). Anyway I'm very disappointed on COTD!!!

  • You are pissed at COTD because auspost lost the goods? Okayyyyy

    • do you mean that's my fault, mate??

I called AU Post twice last week to trace my parcel up and was asked to contact COTD, AU Post told me "they didn't receive the item from COTD, AU Post only received the lodgement paper but not the item, and that's the reason why the staus was not updated on AU Post's web.

This is the feedback from AU Post on email - "We need important details from the sender concerning the lodgement of the article, its size and contents, addressee details, and other necessary information to enable enquiries to be carried out.."

On Wed I contacted COTD and got the feedback from them - "you parcel will be delivered today or on Thu morning."

On Thu I called Au Post and was asked to contact COTD again to asked for the status. I was told by COTD that their staff was sick and working from home, didn't contact AU Post, have to wait until Fri. (why it must be this particular staff to contact AU Post? If he is away for a whole week, should I wait for the whole week then?)

On Fri I was told by COTD that the parcel was lost by AU Post - who is lieing? COTD or AU Post? I don't know!

Why COTD cannot find out the parcel was lost on Wed? Why COTD cannot contact AU Post to confirm the parcel was lost on Thu? I was told the parcel was lost 19 days after I paid for the item. Shouldn't I "pissed at COTD"??

      • Try to chill a bit. QQQ generally seems helpful and will try his best but when it comes to postage it's out of his hands.

i think you missed the point dude, They blame it on post, yet the package never was received by aus post. They sell things before they have even arrived at the store. (have a read of the 'controversies' section in the cotd wiki) - follow huey;s link

          • @Davo1111: Nah haven't missed the point, I think you missed mine :/

Regardless, you want to try and have the rep (QQQ) help you out and not pester or annoy him (put him off side that he may not bother), if that makes sense. I guess what I'm trying to say is he should and probably would help, but the way you ask may influence him on whether how helpful he may be :)

  • bctransit, do you have a tracking number? What does it say online about that tracking number? Manifest received? Collected? At mail centre?

Someone is obviously telling you porkie pies, but if the parcel shows as collected then I would guess it really was collected cause most of this stuff is done by scanning of barcodes now.

Good luck with sorting it out. QQQ is usually quite good at sorting out these issues, but realise that it could be in ausposts hands, in which case it isn't COTD to blame.

    • The tracking info was not updated since 21/09/09 17:20 with latest status of 'Manifest received'. I was told by COTD "For some reason the online tracking system has not been updated". (AU Post said the reason was they didn't receive the item from COTD)

Now, Tue - 6th Oct 2:30pm, I'm still waiting for the parcel which was re-send on last Fri by Allied Express. I was told by COTD that I should receive it on Mon (yesterday), since yesterday was public holiday in NSW, assuming that should be arrived today. (COTD didn't tell me the tracking number so I can't trace it up with Allied Express)

Not sure whether QQQ is usually quite good at sorting out these issues or not, my case is: a whole week after talked to QQQ, my parcel is still "on the way"…

  • Finally received the parcel on 4pm (by Allied Express).

So whose fault is it? Will you change the title if it has nothing or little to do with CoTD?

      • +3

Sorry I won't change the title as:

        1. I don't know whose fault it is, COTD or AU Post? I (we) will never know — I'd actually trust AU Post, the parcel is about 60cm X 60cm X 30cm large, won't be missed or lost that easily

        2. If COTD can provide a better customer service, they should confirm with AU Post and then re-send the item to me on last Wed so I wouldn't miss the deadline

        3. 23 days to receive parcel, do you think ths is a good experience?

        • +1

Well I purchased something from eBay only for Australia Post to lob it over 2 fences (I live in a secure yard) and damage the item. Leaves me between a rock and a hard place as seller (to my knowledge) sold an item that was working, yet it arrived damaged in post.

I'd settle to break one of the posties items :P

i ordered a parcel from cotd and my goods were delivered within cpl days and even received them before i got the postage tracking email from them so this one's a mystery to me, their service was GOOD!!!

  • +2

by reading certain comments it seems that the problem solved itself when the items were handled by a diff postage carrier??? so i ask the question, who's fault was it coz ive worked in transport for yrs and i got a pretty good idea who's fault it woud have been!!

  • Anyone heard about when COTD are shipping the HP Pavillion DV7 Notebooks sold from last week?

  • Well, at least the items were received and no complaints of item in bad shape. That's all I wld ask for, though the delay wld piss me off. = )

    Cheer up
