Guise…it's spelt "guise" if you say it "that way".

  • Sounds absolutely awesome. Got the email today too.

Highly recommend them to anyone, great deals all the time. Getting work to start ordering from them too now.

Be careful if you get faulty stock as I did. Refused a full refund then charged a restocking fee.

  • Mods: there isn’t an expiry on the email. So i have set the expiry on the 31st, hopefully a rep can advise us.

I would suggest leaving it blank if there is no expiry; add the date if/when it becomes known.

It's good to see you "guys" hare. I'm Jennica. (wish everybody still remember me.)

there is no expiry date at this stage. If everyone like this kind of service. I believe we will keep going with that. That is what i think. My job is trying to find out what customer really needs. Please feel free to let me know if you have any suggestion. I will make a note to our manager.

Thanks for the comment and the post.

  • According to the website, it says free shipping when you purchase 6 items are more - is this right?

    • +1

Actually. I was trying to publish on Ozbargain tomorrow. But I'm surprised someone already post it.

This service will be start from tomorrow which is first of October.

      Thanks for your comment.

    • +1

Free shipping does not come in until tomorrow, so today you still need to order more than 6 items to get free post.

      • Yes That's right.

But very welcome to order online tomorrow. To save the 11 dollar shipping fee.

        thanks for your question.

  • Will there ever be a Paypal option? just wondering ? :)

I would definately buy much more if there was a paypal option ! i dont even mind like a 1 dollar surcharge or so.

    • Good point.

A good news for you. As i know from our account department. The Paypal option are under plan, and it will be out very soon. I will update the status for you. You can register a account first, once we official announce the PayPal, We will send out the news letter. Thanks for your commend and sorry for the inconvenience.

      • +2

Paypal is awesome, but from a merchant point of view, yes it sucks. The fee's add up quite quickly, especially compared to people paying via bank transfer and other free methods (which ultimately lower costs equalling lower costs for the end consumer).

    • +7

I just wish paypal would die a horrible horrible death, along with ebay, to be replaced by fairer competitive services that dont charge ridiculously high rates for the service that they provide.

From a seller's point of view, paypal is the largest source of "puff" costs, far worse than a credit card company is in this sense. Paypal's only getting away with their 2.75% fee on transactions because they're a monopoly, and because of the ignorance of the general public to the fact that the "convenience" delivered by paypal is driving up the cost of nearly everything that we buy these days.

It is just like how credit cards have infiltrated our economy with an unnecessary luxury, at a cost that buyers everywhere are unconsciously paying.

I'm not saying that cc is a shit idea, nor saying that paypal is a shit idea, but these are both services primarily deviced to extract more revenue from a previously non-existent source.

CC = tobacco and PP = opium. A need was created where there wasn't before.

And in reply to your comment, i doubt it would be "$1" extra or something. More like 2% of the total purchase.

To Jennica: Thank you for considering the paypal option. But please let the buyer bear the burden of its cost, and not those who dont want to support the gluttony of american capitalisation.

      • +1

I’m not saying that cc is a shit idea**services primarily deviced to extract more revenue from a previously non-existent source.

I think credit cards are a necessary thing.

They are a globally recognised and accepted payment method, if you needed to buy something in another country and only had a savings atm card you cannot do anything as the card only works within the country it is issued.
Or if you travel out of the country where your card is issued you need a credit card to make a payment.

Savings cards also have a limit of around $1000 so if you needed to purchase something more than $1000 and dont have a credit card you are stuck. (Unless you want to carry heaps of cash) Credit cards get around this.

        • so…. you're agreeing with me? "i'm not saying that cc is a shit idea"

          • +1

@kimmik: I dont think that credit cards are a bad idea, i thought you were saying more along the lines of

"A need was created where there wasn’t before."

Credit cards came to fit a need.
The card was not created and then sold to us creating a demand.

            • +2

@anthony: cc is a luxury we could have done without - if financial institutions around the world did not all decide to exploit man's instinct to value short term gains over true, permanent gains. (i.e. spend money that they dont yet have, then repaying later)

But given how the world works now, with banks obviously deliberately ENCOURAGING CC use by making policies that disincentive spending directly from savings, a lot of our spending are made on CCs at a cost to ourselves that most ppl probably dont realise.

Many things we buy are ~1% more expensive than they could've been, if nobody used CC.

Your points are of course valid… i have a cc just like everybody else.

but i use it only because i would otherwise lose out, in this place, where everybody else is using it. policies made against spending freely from savings accts (e.g. overseas and on larger purchases) are only there because banks make greater revenue via money transfered off CCs.

I'm a student, I spend about 5-10k/year on my CC. That's an extra 50-100$ that a bank has pocketed, when they would have gotten $0 if i had spent my savings instead.

              • @kimmik: It's a good explanation. Are you sure you are a student??? But everything you say it's true. Everything we buy are few % more already. and the extra percentage are all charged by bank. At the moment our bank just sit there and wait for the money come in. Sounds not fair, but some time it's also convenient for us to buying the things when we don't have the money yet. But a suggestion for everyone who have CC and use CC very often. Think before you buy something. That is a very important thing when you enjoy the CC services from your bank.

              • @kimmik: On the other side of things, maybe the bank would raise monthly savings-account fees from $5 to $8 as a simple way of raising revenues had credit cards not existed.

We do pay a higher percentage overall due to the overheads retailers pay. But if it wasn't for one thing, it would be another. And at the end of the day everyone is out there to make money, so they'd just find another way to make money. Raising fees, raising taxes.

I do agree with allowing the customer to bare the costs though, if you want to use your CC or PP, then pay the extra 2%. Direct-deposit should be that little bit less.

Not trying to start (continue) this argument but interesting thoughts nonetheless.

      • Honestly, in the seller point of view. It's will have a extra cost if we using Paypal. I think if customer if customer paying by cash. The deal will be better then paying by credit card. But credit card it's very convenient for me when end of month. Because I can pay my bill next month. Do you "guys" think, if we provide some deal like cash deal for some customer who want a good price and don't want to pay by credit and paypal. IT's better for you? Or maybe we should set a vote on our website? How do you think

        • Don't say "pay via paypal or credit card and pay 5% more" type thing, that'll piss people off.

Have it that price is $1000. Pay by Direct Debit, Cash, Cheque - it's $950 (so just overprice everything a touch to take into account fees for those who choose not to pay via free methods).

          • @noyesmaybeok: good idea either way. I just dont want to be ripped off by footing the cost of other ppl paying by PP or CC.

            a vote's nice too.

        • How will this work though? Cash can only be an option if one can physically visit the store.

So it will only be offered to those in NSW?

          • @fufufu: A cash payment is as good as a direct deposit payment so the price will be the same.

      • +3

E-bay double dips with fees then paypal and paypal gets a third dip if you buy from Overseas and get their shitty currency conversion .

    • +1

I hope paypal is not offered.

Their fees for accepting payments are ridiculous, bad news for 9289, bad news for their cheap prices

      • +1

agreed, 1 more vote for no paypal

      • +1

Easy solution - you want Paypal, you cover the fees. Else, log onto your netbank (which takes the same amount of time, honestly) and pay via that and save yourself a few bucks.

      • Thanks for your comment.

    • ballsofsteel - you live in perth, just ride your bicycle to netplus and pay cash there :) saves paypal fees lolz

      • Net plus sint even cheap anyways ! .

Like i said i dont mind to pay extra for paying by paypal

  • Always had good dealings with 9289. Good prices and good service. Their email updates on your order status can be a bit constipated (say they are awaiting shipping when you already have the stuff) but if thats my only complaint I suppose I should get a life!.
Happy to always seek out a price, especially considering the cheap or free shipping and regular specials.
    Cheers

Oh and re PayPal. I always direct debit and hope that if 9289 uses PayPal those that use it pay for it.

    cheers

    JonyX

    • Thanks for your commend and suggestion. I will make a note to our next weekly meeting to discuss about our website order status system.

      Thanks

      • The order system is much better now it emails you with the tracking number and that money has been received, but the updates in 'My Account' still say pending dispatch. Maybe instead of 5 phases just have 4 steps with the 4th one being "Dispatched". Minor bug :)

        Cheers

        • Thanks for your commend. I will make a note to our IT department. If fact, We are trying to update our website to a new system. I have discover that it's lot of bug on our website. We are sorry for that. But thanks for your point out. It's help us a lot.

  • I bought an external 2.5 HDD enclosure off these guys a few weeks ago. Was a great price, and awesome value on shipping (even better now). Couldn't really fault them for a cheaper online retailer. Will definitely be checking out their full range of stock for the shipping sale.

        Thanks for your suggestion.

        • +1 for your honesty haha

  • +1

I second a better price on the logitech Z5500's. They costed about $320 before the aussie $ got weaker. Now that its much stronger, the prices should drop accordingly too!

    • not if the stock was purchased before the dollar gained.

if you dont like the prices, simple, buy elsewhere.

  • +1

plus a vote for no PayPal. You'll see shipping prices rise dramatically because they must be signed for via online trackable courier at all costs, people will attempt charge backs and PayPal fees will drive everyones products up higher than they currently are.

    paypal is bad news.

    • they must be signed for via online trackable courier

9289 send their goods with Fastway couriers to the package is already trackable

  • +1
