Anyway, it's a good alternative to the Moto G 2014. This one has more RAM but the home brand soon to be 3 yr old cpu is questionable.
If it's 1G Ram then I don't see any reason choosing this over Moto G.

No way you will get KitKat from Huawei. It's lucky enough to get 4.2. Normally Chinese manufacture spend absolute $0 in software R&D.

I have this phone. Huawei aren't updating this phone past 4.2.2. Custom roms are non-existent. The processor has a bad habit to crawl to a halt occasionally. Also, the headphone volume is limited and not very loud at all. The phone is fantastic for media and the screen is amazing, but I'm probably going to give it up for the G3. Though, I'll miss having that 2 day battery.
Mate 7 is awesome, should check that phone out. Just came out last month in AU market (JB HIFI and Harvey Norman are both selling it outright for $600 - $660.
Yeah, I looked at the Mate 7, but honestly I don't think I'll go for a Huawei phone again. I just want a reliable phone that'll get the latest updates, or at least have a ROM community that will provide updates.
For that price I don't need to by Huawei.
check out the specifications and the look of the phone first mate. No way I am not gonna pay 1k for new Samsung or Iphones. Mate7 ticks everything for me.

I was also looking at Mate 7 but no way I am going to pay $600+ for a phone that you knows that you are not going to get updates. Note 4 is $700+ now on TGG ebay store, much better buy that Mate 7. Of course if Mate 7 is $350, I will buy it.
I am referring to the high end gold version with 3GB RAM Mate7. Dual SIM 4G LTE and finger print etc. Check JB HIFI webstie. The 3GB LG G3 is still over 600 bux and its lagging badly.
Looks like Huawei is pushing out lollipop to Mate7 and P7 in the next few months.

Beware of Huawei devices, many of their phones use HiSilicon chipsets which means there is limited availibility of custom roms. You can also forget about Kit Kat, let alone Lollipop.
The Huawei Ascend Mate has a very weak GPU based on a fairly outdated and slow Vivante GC4000. Don't buy this if you ever intend to play games — most likely the Zenfone 6 will do better and ASUS has confirmed Lollipop for it,
