Great price for Wasteland 2. If you have been waiting for this on the cheap, this looks like your chance. steamprices.com reports the lowest steam sale price at $26.79.

Great price for an awesome game

  • Pretty sweet game. In many respects it feels like an isometric and turn-based DayZ, just without the open-world aspect. I have no experience with the original Wasteland, as I was in short pants when it released, but if you're at all partial to the X-Com series (including the 2012 remake), Jagged Alliance, Heroes of Might & Magic and other old-school, pseudo-rogue-like, turn-based strategy games, then this will be right up your alley. This is definitely not a game for the casual demographic.

And original Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics.. :)

Thanks OP, also noticed Divinity Original Sin's $17

Seems like a pretty good price!

  • Wasteland 1's $1.50 on steam by the way. 75% off the original price

It's alright. Lacks the tactical depth of Jagged Alliance 2 or even modern X-Com, has some strange design choices (like 3 separate conversation skills that are completely independent of the charisma attribute), and the roleplaying aspect largely boils down to (1) get exposition from everyone in town; (2) decide who to side with; and (3) kill the other side.

Having said that, it manages to be more than the sum of its parts and I've logged over 100 hours. For this price you may as well give it a try.

    • You're making a direct comparison between an RPG and turned based strategy game? C'mon apples and oranges. If you liked the original Fallout 1,2 and tactics, you will most likely enjoy Wasteland 2. After all it, comes from the original creator of the early Fallout games, Brian Fargo.

  • Never heard of GamingDragons before. After a quick search it appears these guys buy cheap physical retail box copies from Eastern Europe and then resell the keys online.

    http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30283…

  • Has anyone got their keys? I made the purchase last night at 10:00pm and received an order confirmation saying that I should receive the key within 2 hours. It's now 9 hours and still nothing in my mail account or on my gaming dragons profile. Hmmm…

    • My bad, I found the keys in an email that came through last night around 12am. Divinity's DRM free so it's an FTP download (note: I am using Chrono Download Manager as the core file is 11GB and i have to shut my computer off and on during the day). Wasteland 2 is a steam key so that's easy.

      • lol, FTP download, that sounds legit!

    • You missed the Steam version:

Personally I would have gone with the double pack from the SteamStore which included the DLC

      • Arghh.. missed this. I have spent the past 3 days trying to download the necessary files but the download speed either slows to a crawl at 75kb/s for a 9GB file or just cuts out..haven't had the chance to play this. I might email gamingdragons to see if i can swap for a steam key.

Guys, avoid buying the non-DRM version of Divinity: Original Sin. it's been 3 days, 7-9 download attempts and I have not once been able to download the 9GB install file. Asking GamingDragons for a swap to steam key and they have asked me to turn off my firewall/antivirus as apparently that affects the downloading process. Given that it takes up to 4 hours to download the file, it means that my computer will be exposed for a substantial amount of time. GD also asked me for my username and password and said they will fix it. Sounds strange? Shouldn't my username be enough for them to work out my profile and games owned?

    • Didn't you say you were using a download manager? Shouldn't that be resuming the download??

      • I was but when i paused and restarted the downloads, chrono download manager would just say that the files are 100% downloaded even though they weren't and I am unable to resume the downloads from where I paused them.

        • Well… That's annoying. Being FTP it should support resume. Maybe try a different downloader?

@ryang: I gave up and asked for a swap for the steam version. Had to pay the difference between the non-drm and steam versions which was USD 3. They were nice enough to let me do that so i was pretty grateful.

  • I made a purchase to test them out but have now received an email stating I need to provide Photo ID (e.g. Passport) to prove the PayPal account I used is my own …….. but they still took the money, WTF! I've sent them an email to query this as I fail to understand why they would asked for Identification to be scanned/emailed AFTER they have deducted the money from my account.

    • Support says all first time buyers must scan & send photo ID …….. this is something you probably should have mentioned OP. It's a real game changer, literally!
