  • Would the Asus Memo Pad 8" be suitable for a 3 year old as a portable player for the car? Specs say it has micro-USB access and accepts micro-SD cards too which can be used for shows etc. Not after a DVD player. Any thoughts?

      • Thanks Trent, reviews seem positive. But will it suit my purpose or is there an alternative? Already got an iPad at home.

        • Not too sure, it has good battery life and USB as you said so should be fine but wait for others who know more to comment :)

Wouldn't your 3year old get car-sickness looking at this while on a moving vehicle?

    • Tbh most android tablet have a better screen ratio for watching movies than iPad.( no black bars) the video program are a lot better And it's a lot easier. Just download MX player, connect to computer or maybe a otg and you're done

      • And MX player codecs….

        • not to mention - mkv format works well

tablets are OK for the price, why, the spec is fairly old on both, the Acer one has only recently obtained root and has lot of bloatware, both have zero custom roms if you want to extract more performance from them and little community support on XDA. By OZB standard they are both avg price but not bad if youre after branded one

  • Nice price on the Jawbone but new models are immanent in Aus. Still tempting :)

    • The up24 is also on special but not really cheap compared to this :)
