You can search & book though. It's live. You can get cheaper than $300 if you know what you're doing. ;)

      • Do tell, Gav.

People are negging my previous comment, so I'm not sharing anything further.

        • Cry?

          @Cardz:

Not posible past December 10th 2015 from Sydney.

  • +2

Yeah, Finally we have more options to fly from Melbourne :)

    • woohoo, same here. been waiting for a year

  • +5

wow thats way toooooo far ahead to book for… nearly 11 months in advance yikes.

I'm assuming Scoot just want to make sure its worth their time to have a MEL - SIN route before they actually have one in place.

    Clever marketting I say!

  • LOL. Get the ticket now…

Who knows if the company will be around next year that far…. :-)

(And can we get chargeback for that long?)

    • +2

Scoot is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines…hopefully it won't be going anywhere in a hurry :)

Did a quick check for 26 Dec 15 flying out returning 8 Jan 16.

Each way is $463 per adult…and $408 for a 2 year old! wtf. Full service airlines will probably work out cheaper.

    • Or depart earlier / later?

      • Will probably have to, this was just a quick check to see what type of prices come up.

From the scoot website "Any passenger who is two years or older must occupy a seat, on their own ticket. Please note that child fares are the same as adult fares."

This is what killed it for me, most other airlines charge around 50% for a child.

        • +1

I went through the motions and found that the child charge wasn't 100%. More like 75% of the ticket price. Still, I won't be getting it due to the departure date I wanted being 15 months in the future.

  • Why am I getting error 404???

    Ozbargained already?

    • don't click on the banner, just book

  • Jetstar price match ;-)

    • +1

They don't appear to have flights this far into 2015 (online at least).

  • -2

Am I doing something wrong? Can't book anything past June 2015.

    • noob you're doing it wrong

  • Hahaha what a joke, launching a route 11 months in advance….

    • +14

I don't think you can just rock on down to your local Boeing dealer and grab the keys to a 787 Dreamliner and fly away….

      • +1

        Not with that attitude.

  • Reason me thinks they are getting a swag of new 787's need to fill them up.

  • Where do I enter promo code?

    • there isn't one. you will see a 'sale' bubble next to the price… assuming they aren't already sold out.

  • No dates work for me.

    • +1

Thanks for the heads up. Best of luck with your future bookings. Be sure to let us know.

  • I can get the flights up for $300 return but any further discounts?

    • +1

      no

    • Depends where and when you wish to fly.

I can find $250 return to Perth

      • @ Cardz, Where do you find those flights with that price?

        • I think it was about December 2015. There might be cheaper ones about also.

$125 including taxes or about $12.47 each way not including taxes..

        • @Cardz:

          Cool, thanks!

  • +2

For science we should have a survey to find out how much non-refundable money people are willing to risk spending on things they can claim from 1 to say, 50 years in the future.

    • +1

That or people take out travel insurance that covers insolvency… :/

  • +2

Site is showing cheap flights by the day, but then no cheap flights exist.

How long is this introductory 'sale' for?

  • Feb/Mar 2016 seem to have the cheap ones ($199 there + $101 back)

    Nothing before that both ways

    Some $101 SIN-MEL in Dec 2015

Farcical to try and book something that far away

    • I've done a few searches between November and March and have found most dates are $179 there and $121 back, so $300 return like the sale says.

  • +2

Such good value, but I have trouble planning tomorrows lunch, let alone a holiday is 14 months' time!

    • +2

Even better, gives you two months to organise passport, two months for visa, two months for accommodation and you still have plenty of time to research lunch ;)

  • Better sell those tickets while oil is on the cheap!

  • saw dec 30 to 5th jan for $300 from sydney.. but singapore is going to be
    1) expensive
    2) alky expensive
    3) hot

    • +1

Singapore is not as expensive as you'd think. Good quality food is surprisingly cheap as long as you're not looking for sit down restaurant service. Getting around on the metro is easy and cheap too.

As for hot and humid, well yes. Go there in our winter for a pleasant escape.

  • Ok price not as good as earlier this year i got 3 trips gold coast to Singapore return for $176 each return trip.

  • Thanks OP - have booked tix MEL-SIN in ScootBiz for my dad and I for a quick week away next November. Came to $1236 including CC fee…

Got to find a good, cheap mystery hotel in October 2015 on Hotwire now…

  • +1

First time using Scoot. For some reason for departure it says $199, but for the fly option it is $429.

  • Even cheaper than a return flight from Canberra to Melbourne :'(

  • Way too far out, normal non-peak prices with these guys is only around $150-$200 extra anyway. Not a saving that's worth needing to book 12-15 months in advance.

  • Still works for some people

Booked last night for my mum to travel back (we have family there so a trip is never a waste).

I myself though am in your camp and need to actually plan things out before I book, so will suffer the extra cost. Jetstar on special can be very close to this price anyway (I've flown $169 one way) and probably will improve once competition enters the market.

  • Booked Syd-Singapore Return $318.
    Dec 27th 2015, Jan 20th 2016.

  • Doesn't appear to be any announcement yet but checking JQ flights for October 2015 seems like Jetstar has lowered their MEL -> SIN return to $289.

    AU$159 MEL -> SIN, AU$130 SIN -> MEL.

    Test data: 17 Oct 2015 - 24 Oct 2015.

  • December 15 - January 10 all blacked out. Worthless.

    • Not true. Dec 27 was $199 for example.
      The fares have just gone.

      • Ic…..damn stupid work costing me my next Christmas holiday….
