Thanks. If anyone is wondering, the standard dinner buffet is $75 per person.

Edit: The above was the weekend dinner rate.

Earlier in the year the following applied:

    Lunch Buffet
    Mon - Saturday $60 pp
    Sun $65 pp

    Dinner Buffet
    Mon - Thursday $65 pp

  • how much for lunch lol?

  • can someone give me a link to the restaurant website!… im going insane looking for it!

  • Does the menu change for lunch and dinner?

  • -2

Lol at $75 per person for a buffet. Should be 3 for the price of 1 and still wouldn't be a great bargain

    • +2

I'd like to know where you can get a seafood buffet for $25 or less. That would be a real bargain.

  • well u can go for lunch and it'd be 30 bucks each…

seems quite decent considering it's in the city… will definetly go in the coming weeks

The buffet is a bit expensive but it is AMAZING!!!! The seafood is very very fresh and the desserts are just amazing. And it's a buffet too, so you can eat until your stomach is content =) The seafood consists of oysters, blue swimmer crabs, gigantic prawns which burst out of their shells, balmain bugs/mini lobsters(it alternates between the two depending on seasonality i guess), calimari and sashimi.

Warm food changes quite a bit, depending on what the chef feels like cooking I guess. They have vegies, steamed fish, potaties, soup and some form of either beef, chicken or pork. Once I had Wagyu beef!!! They have salads as well and a variety of cheeses, bread and crackers. The seafood is a standout though, and I find I only try the warm food to see what it's like but always go back to the seafood.

The desserts are amazing and there is an immense range to satisfy everyone. They are all cut in tiny portions so that you can try a bit of everything rather than have a big slice and waste the rest while you want to try other desserts. I can't remember the entire range but I'll try and list what I can recall: creme brulee, chocolate mousse, cheesecake(variety of flavours), apple crumble, mudcake, lemon meringue, passionfruit spongecake, brownies, fresh fruit, hand whipped cream and that's all I can remember.

It's a bit expensive but you won't regret it. I always make an effort to go when there is a promotion if my schedule and budget allow =)

  • Also, apparently if you go during dinner each person gets a lobster(or so the person on the phone told me), I've only been during lunch though. Lunch is between 12 and 2:30 I think, and dinner is from 5 to 9 or 30 so you get more time to stuff yourself silly. Drinks aren't included in the buffet price but tea and coffee is free

    • I think it's half a lobster each. I wouldn't complain if it was a whole one though. :D

    • Lobster mornay is for weekends only.

  • Yep definitely a bargain. Went there the last time they had 2 for 1 and the food was top quality. If you're into your seafood then 30 bucks a head is a goer.

  • I was thinking of having a mini seafood feast at home… oysters at the market is like 12-14 bucks a dozen and if u add prawn and crab in the mix, that is nearly 30 bucks!! plus the trouble of cooking and cleaning…

Definetly can't wait to go to this place!

  • Yeah, I missed last promotion and was waiting for next - finnaly arrived. Just booked dinner, can't wait! If anyone wants to go call them ASAP as last time I tried to book in last two weeks and it was almost fully booked - it becomes very popular. It's 65$ (Thursday) for a dinner for two persons - amazing price for a seafood buffet - 32.5$ pp - awsome, can you find any better quality/price? I'm sure you can't.
    Thanks for posting that!

    is this the deal??

when i click view terms & cond. the 3rd point says
"To access the exclusive offers, Pulse Members will be required to reference their card at
time of booking (if applicable) and a valid Pulse Member card must be presented at time of
    purchase/arrival to access the offer."..

    http://www.sydney.com/Sites/SiteID3/objLib211/CRAVE%20SYDNEY…

so we need to have a pulse member card?!

  • I already called to book on the weekend, 75 bucks for two, doesn't need to be the Pulse Member for booking. Great bargain, thanks!

  • Booked! Next 2 Saturdays are full (they only allocate limited tables for the discount). So be quick!

well, a few years back, when 4 points sheraton first introduced this buffet, it was $40 p/p. There were similar promotions, 2 for 1, and make it $40 per couple. at that time, tea/coffee were served free. i loved it. food and service were all on 5 star level.

later on, because the price was quite low and its reputation kept growing, everytime i went there, it was like a food court. people rushed to food and grap as much as the plate can hold and leave nothing for others. there were groups of travellers have dinner there all the time and all of these made it noisy and messy. tea/coffee got taken away. no one replaced used plates on tables………………….

finally, after another bad experience in there with my friends, i said to myself i will never go back again.

2 years past, now, from all of your words/comments, it looks things are all good in there. so should try again?

  • I have heard good things about it!

  • Wow how many Ozbargainers are going? I tried to book for two people tomorrow which is a Wednesday and even then they're full on behalf of those using discounts.

I hope people put reviews up here soon (wonder if they treat us cheapies differently)

The service there is top notch, have been there many times and brought some friends too and they all loved it. Used plates are cleared very quickly and are very attentive if you want drinks or a new bowl of warm water to wash your fingers. New food is brought out constantly to refill the half empty dishes so there's little chance of you standing around waiting for food to arrive. Trouble11111 I'd definitely recommend that you return! The staff treat you fine there, I haven't witnessed them treating different customers better etc. They don't do EFTPOS though, only cash and credit card.

  • Called to book, the only Fri, Sat and Sun availability till end of Oct for the special is 23, 30 and 31. Get in quick guys.

  • Does anyone know how much they charge for a 3 years child? thanks

  • maybe ring up and book first, then mention the 2 for 1 discount. coz i've just book for 10 ppl.

  • i've booked the sunday night, is there lobster on the sunday night?

  • boooked on the 19th for lunch!

Get in quick… so many booked out days grrrr

  • I've just booked for dinner!

I'm still a bit iffy about the credit card details though… but I guess it's pretty much standard in restaurants?

  • credit card details???/

i was told to just rock up and pay at the dooor????????
im scared that my booking isn't valid now… eeek

    • I wasn't required to leave CC details for my mid-week dinner booking.

  • +1

They changed their policy because a lot of people used to book tables and not show up and they lost revenue because they turned other people away expecting people who had reserved seats to show up. I think for tables of more than 2 people, they take your CC details so that if you don't show up, they'll charge you $10 per person I think, so then chances are that you'll more than likely show up now that you have something to lose with nothing to show for it. I'm fairly certain it's safe though, other restaurants do it too.

  • +2

Yep, plenty of other restaurants do it, but this is nothing more than a scare tactic.

For starters, few restaurants advise that there are any penalties if you don't show up and nor have you signed any agreement to pay anything for no show.

Friend of mine did a no show at some restaurant and they charged her a $200 cancellation fee. After a few rounds at the Dept of Fair Trading, the restaurant was made to pay a full refund and cop a fine.

I'm not encouraging people to test this, just pointing out they have no legal basis for charging cancellation fees without prior agreement from you.

  • lucky, I love seafood! To bad im on the gold coast lol

  • Any reviews on this restaurant from fellow Ozbargainers yet? (in case this deal pops up again)

  • Okay i just went for lunch today at around 12 when they opened.

Service - very friendly, efficient and yes they cleared your plates as soon as you leave the table or when you've finished with it.

Food - Seafood was hmmm good and bad.
    Prawns - fresh and juicey
Oysters - small and brown (not so fresh)
    Mussel - ok
Crab and bugs - tasted bland
    Sushi - god awful
Sashimi and smoked salmon - tastes fine

Hot dishes - i had chicken, fish cakes, beef etc and to be honest, nothing special - just ok

Desert - 10 different choices or so… average for me… quantity over quality in my opinion

Overall i would not go back, even if there was another buy 1 get 1 free promotion. 30 dollars each is way too much for average buffet food.

    I'd rate it 4/10

    P.S i would i screamed if i had paid 60 dollars!

  • Okay I went with a mate at 6pm Wednesday night.
Service - adequete, they clear the tables real fast and basically you just help yourself with the buffet (obviously) while requesting for drinks on the side

Food- Okay I'll break it up into categories.
Entree - bacon and mushroom soup was actually quite nice, creamy and tasty; naan bread was crispy; didnt try the cheeses but looked great
Salad - meh, it's salad, okay
Seafood - our oysters were small but they weren't brown. They tasted quite good though you can get better at the fish shops but hey, it's a buffet; sashimi was the real prize winner here. I kept going for these they were just excellent!; mussel, okay; crab was plain; bugs was plain but it was still good to have this on offer; prawns were another big winner here - big, juicy, fresh.
Hotfood - the beef was okay, but didnt try the vegetables as they looked dry. Focus on the seafood here!
Dessert - wow. excellent choice and variety but all of the pieces were just delectable! Especially enjoyed the hot chocolate sauce, and the cakes mmmm.

IMHO I would have paid $30 to go there since you're really just eating seafood and desserts if you want the most out of this restaurant. Definitely not worth the $65-75 per person and with this offer potentially coming up again, you would be happy to pay half price for the first time; it's good for a first time experience but I'd leave it at that.

  • thanks for the review on the food/service guys. glad the sashimi was tops, i have just started to enjoy it! am off tonight to try the buffet myself.
