  According to the fine print you need to pay an additional $55 joining fee if you're not already an NRMA member.

  Anyway, i really dont see the point of home assist. One should be able to cut the mains power/circuit or water supply of your house. As for 8 call outs a year, i don't think i've ever made 1 emergency call-out to a plumber/electrician in my lifetime.

    Good point. People should learn these essentials and be a bit independent. It's far more convenient to be able to do this yourself rather than sit and wait for someone else to visit. And then it's obviously far cheaper on top of that.
