  • Any chance this does higher than 60hz at 1080p when hooked up to a PC?

    • According to specs it does 2160p at 60Hz so it should also be capable of doing that for 1080p.

    • What I mean is, the seiki 40" 4k tv can do 120hz at 1080p… would be sweet if this tv can too as I care not for 4k but having higher hz is great for gaming :)

      • Oh, gotcha, should have read your comment more carefully. Don't know.

      • there is an easy way to tell.

If it can't do 3D there is no chance it will do 120hz with the exception being if its a generic brand where anything can happen.

    • 60 Hz is the fastest I can set it for on 1080p using the ASUS GTX-970. This is likely to be the TV's limit.

      • thanks, I guess the wait continues xD
        Just want a 40" 120hz tv >__<

  • Very likely.

  • very tempting as a monitor or bedroom tv.. though I think I'll wait see what 2015 has to offer.

  • I dont see what the problem is whether content is available now or not.

Average life span of a telly for one reason or another is probably 3 - 5 years.

If you think there will be content available in that time and you think you would like to view that content and you need the tv now then it sounds like a good buy considering the price of alternative similar 1080p tvs that are also available now.

If you answer no to any of the above then maybe save a few pennies and go for a cheaper option.

    • If you think there will be content available

      There won't be.

You think they can roll out 4K broadcasting, film and web streaming in the next 3 - 5 years when FHD is still not a broadcast standard and has a miniscule presence on the web a decade after its large-scale introduction?

      • no i certainly dont believe there will ever be tv broadcast in 4k but i do believe there will be movies available either on hard drive or a new form of disc. Streaming in this country maybe , maybe not…….either way not for me to decide , I'm not in the market for a new tv just yet.

  • It's down to $698 at The Good Guys now, for everyone who missed the ebay promo.
