Telstra 4G Wi-Fi Modem E5372T with 3GB Data Prepaid $49 @ DJ & DS

170

Previous cheapest I could find was $59 @ Coles on its catalog a few weeks ago.

DJ's have them in store whereas DS only available online (5.95 delivery charge)

For delivery, it seems like DJ's is a better bet, free delivery over $50, so if you were to add something worth $2 to the cart (Search for "Silver Lametta" ) on the DJ site, net price becomes about $51 delivered.

These come locked as usual.

This deal at DJ might come in handy to help claim that $30 off $150 Amex deal!

EDIT: Its been pointed out that DJ's advertises this with 5GB! I am skeptical but lets see.

    That's cheap!
You cant happen to unlock a Telstra Nokia Lumia 530 can you?
If so then you've got about $100000 from ozbargainers already

Lol! will check and get back to you!

      • Cheers.

  • Never used one before. When you say it's locked and you are unable to unlock it, is that for using different sim cards from VF, optus etc? If so, are there any performance issues?

    • +1

Yup, you would be able to use any card with it. I'm using VF 4G on the device and its working like a charm. I've also tested it in: Turkey,Singapore,Malaysia and its been great!

      • I won one through Telstra and these things are great! Using a 4G voda sim and its really speedy and the battery life is great

  • OP I can't seem to be able to PM you?

    • You should be able to now :) I had no idea that PM's were by default disabled!

    • Connect up to 5 WI-FI enabled devices simultaneously including a compatible smartphone, tablet or laptop.
    • Battery life up to 10 hours, 400 hours standby
    • Interactive TFT LCD screen with display
    • Powered by the Telstra Mobile Network
    • Compatible with PC and Mac
    • Includes 5GB of data to use in Australia (30 day expiry)

    It says 5gb not 3gb

    • If so, even better! However, all the Telstra 5372 nowadays seem to come with 3GB, so i guess its a bonus if this actually does come with 5GB! Let's wait for a confirmation from someone who has received it!

    • Has anyone bought one and confirmed that? thanks !

  • You can get it for $39 by buying it from DSE and use mates rates ;)

Don't forget you need $1 item to make the total $50 to be eligible for $10 off

  • how is that model compared to this one:
    https://www.telstra.com.au/broadband/mobile-broadband/my-wif…

and can you get an unlock code for for that one as well?

  • cant checkout anymore :(

  • from DJ: Sorry, this item is out of stock

  • Click and collect still works with David Jones, it is not out of stock. Just add a bunch of stores and see which one has stock - plenty do in Sydney, I just ordered pick up from Market St.

  • Don't think these work on 700mhz.

Thus why they are being cleared!

  • I got one from Officeworks Woolloongabba on Friday for $49.

    Are these the recharge rates?
    Big on Data

Telstra Prepaid Freedom is now Big on Data.

    Recharge $30 = 800MB, $40 = 1.5GB and $50 = 2GB

    • I'd like to know the recharge rates too, if its $50 for 2GB thats crazy. I can use about 1 GB a hour just watching YouTube on 1080p. Then you probably cant keep it as an emergency back up cos your credit will expire if you dont use it.

      • I'd have thought you'd look at these plans for Mobile Broadband

        On Plan - https://www.telstra.com.au/broadband/mobile-broadband/plans

        Prepaid - https://www.telstra.com.au/broadband/mobile-broadband/prepai…

Both are better value wise than the Telstra Prepaid Freedom, which is a mobile phone plan. Still exy compared to a fixed service mind.

        • Just noticed Telstra have jacked the price of their 365 day recharge by $20 to $200 - and no additional data. Bastards.

        • @nafe: Yeah. Think that happened nearly a year ago. Even at $150 it was quite expensive, but handy to have as a backup

        • @nafe: I first read that as from $20 to $200!

        • @Smigit: They bumped from $150 and 10GB to $180 and 12GB a couple of years ago. Now it's $200 for 12GB. I know because I recharged earlier this year (April) and it was still $180 :( At least make it $200 and 15GB!

  • Got the code from unlockphone007, turn around time less than 12 hours, and it works. All good.

  • Can confirm the David Jones catalogue is wrong. Bought and activated and I only received 3gb data.

Will shoot an email to DJs but have little expectation of a reply.

  • Got an unlock code from unlockphone007 within 28 minutes of paypal payment at 1am. Great service. :)
