Bad: It's anything but smart, though • Slow performance • Cheap feeling buttons • Horrible USB cover • No Wi-Fi • No 3G • Tiny space bar • USB 1.1 only

    ok for $99.

  • Great, now I can look like a bigger w**ker than I already do!

No…seriously! I just bought one, I think this is the first deal I've been able to jump on quick enough…makes up for missing the cybershot phone from DSE for $99….I hope!

Compared to the price it did sell for it better live up to it's hype :P

  • so it's a bust company = no warranty
it has no features, apart from being a basic phone..
why not just go to coles and buy a $40 phone?
    neg from me, sorry

    • No problem Davo, each to their own mate

    No Wifi = No smartphone.

Mikinoz, can you post a real bargain next time? or else don't really bother to post here to try to clear some rubbish for HT.

See others example posting for HT such as cheap belkin ipod stuff, Aug laptop clearance such as MacBook 13" down to $700 etc.

Else I regard you as an HT rep posting here just to advertise, not to posting some real bargain.

Bargain example, COTD and a bunch of ppl selling computer stuffs cheaper than the market price.

Advertisement example, dick smith and others retailers.

You know what I am talking about and others ozbargainers can the the judge.

    • ZZZ Maybe you should be made a mod for such excellent and stalwart words of Ozbargain wisdom. Why thanks to you we'll have a post from "Bargain example" Catch of The Day here, everyday, for selling their "real bargain computer stuffs."

Do you even know what else can be had on the market for $99? Take a quick look at some catalogues and you'll find the Nokia 2330 or a Samsung C3110. Now do me a favor and take a look at what they can do, and compare that to this phone. (Granted that yes, the Cybershot phone from DSE is probably a better deal, but that's a different type of phone altogether.)

Apart from the features already listed above, a student with only $99 to spend on a phone can use Windows Mobile 6 software to edit documents, work on a spreadsheet, view PDF files, heck if they had small quick hands, maybe even take notes in class! All on a 2.5" 65k screen, with bluetooth, 2.0mp cam and video, expandable storage and mp3 playback, FOR ONLY $99.

If you're out there looking for a smartphone because you have a job that requires it, then you'll have money to spend on a proper one, and if you know anything about smartphones, you would have skipped this entry once there was I-mate in the title. As was mentioned above, this barely counts as a smartphone. But if you wanted to give your 14 year old son a $99 mobile phone for Christmas, then this packs a whole lot more features than other phones out there at the sub 100 dollar price point.

I'm not voting positive or negative for this one because I feel neither thrilled or angry at this post (or I simply don't care for it), but I am writing because I am ASTOUNDED by Mr. bbbig's almost ultimatum-sounding judgement; by the clarity and the depth of it. "Can you post a real bargain next time? OR ELSE." Yet without having a workable amount of knowledge of the bargain in question, or in this case, mobile phones.

No I do not know what you are talking about, but yes I, an Ozbargainer, am judging you.

  • How do you have rep status, when you have posted on your other bargains saying you are NOT a rep for HT?

    • No idea , that is weird and i am not a rep for HT quite the opposite actually.

I am just to lazy to search many other places and tend to keep those for myslf :) i find the Harris bargains are easy to get to for most ppl ie they are in a lot of states in australia.

I would put fluidtek bargains up but i hate eddie

  • i wouldnt buy it rather something else but hey there’s 23 left get in there

Why would you post it if you don't think it's good?
I don't think you get the idea of how OzBargain is supposed to work

    • This was previously on OzBargain when it was $129 and sold out quickly.
It's okay for the money; it's not the greatest but it's slim and is useful as a phone for txting.

OfficeWorks stocks these, too. Go there, try it for yourself and get it price-beaten if you want to do it NOW…

I wouldn't bag the person posting HT deals, I got an iMac for $599!

    • Steve, i have 3 phones for myself thats why i would not buy it.

I think bargains are for everyone so just cause i wont buy it doesnt mean its a bargain

  • for me, as long a stuff can be bought cheaper - then its consider a bargain. maybe small bargain or big bargain. some ppl might need it and will happy with (even small) bargain - some ppl dont need it.
no need to vote - just because YOU think its not good compare with others… its all about taste.. we talking about price (bargain) here… peace !

    • +1

to me, a bargain is something that can't be found cheaper elsewhere AND you would buy it yourself. Otherwise you're just advertising.

      • exactly… cheaper somewhere is easy to check, but you would buy… hmm every person is different. some even want to but dont have money to buy lol - cant justify bargain or not base on person's willingness to buy/need
