  • Newbie question, how do I use an emailed gift card in store? Do I need to print it out, or an I show on my phone?

    • +1

You will get a pdf with a gift card number & pin. Tell the cashier you want to pay but egift card and you type the numbers into the eftpos machine.

I keep the number & pin in google keep (android app). You have enough time between the eftpos machine showing the remaining balance and the receipt being printed to update the balance in keep. Makes it really easy.

  • Apparently the Entertainment Book offer is also 5% (tried using a colleagues book).

The BigW egift card is currently available for 7.5% off until the end of December. Although, it is branded BigW, it can be used as Woolworths supermarkets, petrol stations, etc. See the link in the initial post.

  • Can you buy these with Amex for rewards pts?

    • Yes.

  • +1

Isn't this also a standard deal with cash rewards too ?

    • +1

      Yep!

    • Who knows how long that will last. I suspect WW are just doing it to bring more customers in, & will discontinue it at some point once they think it has snared enough new shoppers for them.

  • Can Wish Cards be used to top-up Opal? I guess yes.

    • +2

      Yes

  • Can i use ING card or MEbank to get additional 5% cashback ? Thanks

    • +1

How could you do that? You can buy gift card in store and get 5% back.

  • Will you still get Triple points if buying the gift card using an AMEX platinum edge card?

Earn 3 points at major supermarkets in Australia.

I purchased egift card yesterday or the day before and still haven't received it. They say it can take up to 12hrs because of the banks anti-fraud stuff but still waiting.

    • It normally takes several hours to a half day for me, though the last one I did in December, it took over a day.

      • Mine usually take between 60 minutes and 90 minutes.
Make sure that you check your junk email folders.
You should receive a receipt from them and then an email with a link to the pdf.

        • yeah I got it through last night. It took 34 hours.

        • @whitty:
I also bought some yesterday - took A long time !!! Missed my online shopping spot because of it :(

  • Just a reminder you can use these cards to pay with Dan Murphys online and if you go through cashrewards you get 8.5% cashback savings in addition on wine, bit less for spirits and beer.

Around 13% off from Dan Murphys on wines is very good buying.

    • Very true but the cash back takes ages….

      • +1

Yes takes 30 to 90 days but it's money back you wouldn't have otherwise

    • Good to remember thanks!

  • Sorry if this question has already been asked but can these be used to purchase physical gift cards that are sold in Woolworth ? IE Myer, JB etc… ?

    • No.
      But I haven't tried at self-checkouts.

When this runs out just use https://www.cashrewards.com.au as they also offer these cards with 5% off permanently.
Been using them now for the last few weeks.
I used to buy them from the RAA but that was always subject to availability and when you desperately need them for a bargain and they have sold out until next week it can get very annoying.

You can also buy them in any dollar combination, so just after you have price matched that fabulous present for yourself and also found it in BIGW just print out the exact amount e.g. $239 then bring it in and use it.

Easy to use at self checkout and when you use it at a checkout with an operator just tell them it's the egift option just above the eftpos button.

    • This is a very recent offer, may not turn out to be permanent. For now though it's a good option. Great that you can by in any amount.

  • Any way to compound with these? PM me.

  • A question to my learned OBs….

In the pdf that one receives after purchasing an eGiftcard, is it the Woolworths reference number that I need to use when I am shopping with it?
It said login to my account at Woolworths Money but there are no gift cards listed in there for me:(
    TIA x

If not the above, what is the process?
I did not receive a card number or a PIN :(

    • You will receive three emails in total
One immediate as soon as you buy
      Next, tax invoice
And finally the actual gift card

      • Thankyou for your reply.
I have looked for my actual gift card email but can't find it :(
        I bought it on 16th :(
        Will look again
        cheers

  • Can't seem to be able to enter discount code on mobile site on Android. Unsuccessfully tried to request desktop site. (No access to standard computer.)

Am logged into eGift cards on http://everydaygiftcards.com.au/gift-cards/wish-gift-cards but no option to enter code.

Tried CashRewards, but did not display screen in everydaygiftcards to order eGift Cards - flashed up then disappeared. Finally bought through PricePal at 5% discount.

    • Yep, there is a problem with the mobile website. No 'promo code' box appears.

  • grrr, why do the stupid things take so long ….

    • Bought some almost 48 hours ago, just got the tax invoice (second email) and still waiting for the e gift cards. Thought it would be much much quicker

    • i wanted to place a woolworths order last night. i ordered a card at about 8pm and i received them at 00:30 while i was asleep. too slow. and in your case, 48 hours is ridiculous
