Things are super cool at HOYTS this summer! We’ve turned 1000’s of public seats into FREE seats at the movies. So while you’re out and about this summer, you can FREEZE YOUR SEAT TO WIN!
Simply download the FREE HOYTS Cinema Australia App to access the game where you’ll see we have dropped location pins on Google maps – we’ve used park benches, bus stop seats, seesaws, swings and other public seats. The closer you are to the pins, the colder you’ll be getting (it’s called ‘FREEZE YOUR SEAT’, after all!)
The first person to get to a prize pin and FREEZE it wins the Free HOYTS cinema ticket! Miss out on the free ticket? Don’t worry! The second on the scene will win a regular Frozone and the third will win a regular popcorn from the HOYTS cinema Candy Bar.
Someone else could get there first, so you’ll have to be quick!
Once all the prizes have been claimed on that seat, the icon will disappear.
New seats are added every day so make sure you’re ready to FREEZE YOUR SEAT.
REMEMBER: Stay safe! It’s not worth running across busy roads (or attempting dangerous parkour maneuvers) to get a prize pin. For safer play, we recommend searching for pins in the light of day!
New Pins will be released daily except for the final two (2) days of the Promotional Period (being 26/01/2015 and 27/01/2015). The number of prizes available in each State/Territory are as follows:

Won popcorn and frozone today, map stopped working though anyone have the same problem?
It stops loading once you reach the 5 prizes for 7 days limit.
Map doesnt even load.
Same guy appears to be getting the only 10 which are released every day in Canberra..
I got eight tickets when it first started, but they haven't released anymore in our area since. Probably because we only have three Hoyts in the entire state (QLD). Eight is enough for me. That's four visits for me and my mum. Since, they're only valid for another two months, the guy in Canberra must be either selling them or wasting them.
Only discovered this a few days ago and have won 2 popcorns & 1 frozen drink so far. Someone else seems to be prowling my hood at midnight scoring all the movie tickets lol on the up side I am getting fit walking the streets!
The ones in Melbourne CBD are all gone every night within 10 minutes, it's challenging trying to get some

App not working again? When I try to 'freeze the pin' the app freezes or a continuous spindle spins.
Yeah, not working for me also. Tried freezing a pin but it doesn't load.
Yeah happened to me as well last night. After waiting for some time I pressed back button and loaded it again and the pin completely disappeared.
According to hoyts fb page,
….have you reached your maximum claim bonus of 5 as of yet? If so, this resets every ThursdayI thought I was the only one, last night got movie seats it happened to me twice so far. One pin completely disappeared off the map

It's finally working for me again after two weeks of trying again. But are all the pins in Sydney gone?!?!
Its almost like a frenzy at the stroke of midnight. You can almost see the pins turn from red to blue before your very eyes.
Very hard to get tickets now. I think there are quite a few people hunting for these tickets.
Plenty of popcorn and frozones. Nobody wants to waste their 5 claims on them.
When the app last worked for me about 2 weeks ago, the tickets were vanishing early during the day but there were heaps of popcorns and frozen cokes around. Now the frozen cokes and popcorns vanish before lunchtime in Sydney! So if you zoom out on the map, the next closest locations with stuff are the central coast and Wollongong. It's totally nuts!
I believe Adelaide has been sucked dry of pins; none left!
What time normally new pins release? i never see any tickets at all, and even the closest pop corn or frozen drink is like 15 mins drive from my house or work :(

Found out there's some woman in Canberra working for Defence selling popcorns, frozones and movie tickets on the Defence classifieds. What an awesome person claiming all the prizes only to resell.
Hey its fine if your going to use the vouchers for your family and friends but that's low
probably not worth it driving for hours to claim them just to resell for a few bucks
Theoretically I guess if you had a pin on your street, it wouldn't be difficult to accumulate the prizes.
Me, the nearest pin to home is 10ks away lol and none around work!
There's a whole bunch on eBay too. Now we know who's out at midnight every night!
