Dude you just needed to actually read the title and in the post where I had "discount shows in cart" That's why everyone negged you although I didn't.

  • +1

    Is it locked?

    • As it's Vodaphone, I would imagine so

      • It's in the outright category so maybe not..?

        • Yeah, this is what I am wondering about as well.

        • -1

@garratt torlesse: the person who can confirm yes/no will be a legend among men.

      • I heard other day they don't lock phones anymore, was talked about on the Vf htc one m8 deal

        • +2

Well, that is an awesome deal then:)

        • +1

          @freeradical:
Bought one from Preston. They only have the locked (prepaid) models in stock but still willing to sell and will give unlock code with 24hrs.

    • I took a chance and bought this deal. Thanks Oz bargain. No it is not locked. It came with a Vodafone sim and credit but I am with Telstra and had no issue.
It is a nano sim so I cut my sim card down to fit and have had no issued.

  • If I did not buy the Nokia 925 the other day, I would grab this deal. Great Deal.

  • It will make the deal even better if dicksmith match priCE with this deal with extra free Lumia 530.

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/unlocked-smart-phones/nokia-lumi…

    • Did u try, I have reserved one at my local DSE will go in the evening ? I doubt it

      • Tried at perth City store. DICKsssss said under cost price. Really? DICKsssss? I think they will have to sell it at under cost price one day. :-)

        • They were ready to price match it at our local store but wont give the bonus handset and optus prepaid because in their system when they change the price the bonus items are disabled.

  • +1

$146 after the gift card is a great deal. Just need more apps on the Windows Store and I would pounce on this deal!

    • +1

121 after the 25 dollar voucher, if you still have it, but it will only be a great deadl if its unlocked.

735 sports the Snapdragon 400, 720 screen, and its RRP really should have been in the 250 range. Not the 350. But MS had to differentiate it from the 630 ~$200 and 530 ~$100 by jacking the 735 up to the $300 range.

  • How can I source a Harvey $25 voucher still?

  • Anyone knows how long it'll take to get the gift card?

    • About two weeks, I was asked to send a picture of the invoice.

      • thanks! I won't be able to use it for Christmas purchases then.

        • Surprisingly got my giftcard in a day after sending them my scanned invoice
          Im guessing it was expressed?

The first form that you fill out is the one that takes long to hear a reply from

        • @HTID09:
bought 735 last month from HN for $323, and completed the online claim for the gift card, but still not any response from Microsoft

        • @excite:

I got a reply back in 2 weeks I think it was asking for a scanned invoice of my receipt, I sent that and got a confirmation back in an hour or 2 and the next day received my gift card, which I thought was strange since they said wait 2 weeks for the gift card to arrive

I also purchased from Hardly Normal

        • @HTID09:
Thanks, thinking to contact MS, but could not find a number or email address on that page

        • +1

          @excite:

          [email protected]

Thats the email they contacted me with
          Good luck

        • @HTID09:
Mass Edit: I just talked to Microsoft support. They confirmed that the email [email protected] is legit.

I just found it weird I couldn't find the email address linked to a legit site on the web. That, and sites usually ask you to upload the receipt to their site… and not attach via email.

        • @ForceF3D:
Hi ForceF3D, what number did you use to call Microsoft? I sent them an email last week, but no response.

  • except the extra 512mb ram, and a slightly better screen, there's no real difference between 630 and 735. Not sure if would spend an extra 100 for this small difference

    • There's also no LED flash on the 630 while the 735 does.

    • that's double the RAM.. Is it not important for Window phone?

      • 640K ought to be enough for anybody

        • You know that's a false quote right.

        • @Steptoe: I don't see any facts or reliable citations on that wiki page.

        • @eug:

C'mon man. I read it on the internets. The joke is getting less funny so i'll stop now.

        • @Steptoe: *plays Darude - Sandstorm

    • +3

The 1gb ram will better future proof the phone. 512 is just a tad meager, there is even versions of the 630 with 1gb ram overseas.

      • Optus sells the 636 locally, has 1GB of RAM.

    • +7

735 has a front facing camera, higher resolution screen, LED flash, better main camera (5mp vs 6.7mp), wireless charging, NFC, OLED screen…..

I have a 636, which is a 630/635 with 1gb of RAM, and it's a great phone, but this pretty much beats it in every single way. Considering buying even though my 636 is only a few months old.

  • I just spoke to my local Harvey Norman and this one is locked to Vodafone.

looking at vodafones unlocking page: http://support.vodafone.com.au/articles/FAQ/Network-Lock

it looks like it will cost $75 to unlock if you do it online.

    • +2

Like I said above apparently Vodafone do not lock their phones anymore, similar to the dse deals - Vodafone htc one m7 and m8 were both unlocked. Probably get an answer from Vodafone if you ring and ask :) Although even if it is locked I wouldn't mind VF the offer some good deals

      • +3

This phone is not a prepaid phone, so it's definitely unlocked. Vodafone has never locked any of their non-prepaid phones for many, many years.

Well sort-of. They used lock them, but as the page linked to above says, they give the unlock code away for free at http://vodafone.com.au/unlock.

Pretty dumb, but as good as unlocked.

        • The link above says "If charges are applicable to you, you will need your credit card" though.

Hopefully it is unlocked, I'm going to buy one in an hour but don't have a nano-sim so won't be able to confirm for a few days unless someone at my work has a nano-sim to test with.

        • +1

          @MrFunSocks:

The link above says "If charges are applicable to you, you will need your credit card" though.

Charges are not applicable to non-prepaid phones, as confirmed by the page you linked.

        • +1

          @MrFunSocks:

Punch in the IMEI before committing to purchase to check unlock fees.

      • +6

Just bought one in store, plugged the IMEI into the unlock page and can confirm it is not locked.

The salesman said they are locked but they will send me the unlock code when vodafone send them through in the next 2 weeks, but I guess he didn't have any idea what he was talking about lol.

It came with the bright orange case inside the box too. Was hoping it was the green one but nope. Think I'll keep the default grey (which is pretty much black) case on it until I can find a white one.

        • +2

          Thanks for Info.

        • Did your phone come with earphones and a separate USB cable, or was it attached to the charger? I was just watching youtube reviews and the contents were different in each case.

          Thanks in advance

        • @nomadspartan:

Just bought from HN Aspley in Brisbane. No earphones and the charger doesn't have a detachable USB cable.

        • +1

@nomadspartan: No earphones, no separate usb in mine.

      • Can confirm my dse bought vodafone htc one m7 is not only unlocked, but free of vodafone bloat on the phone.

    • Lol u called Hardly Normal and expected them to know. They only tell what is normal and scripted. All prepaid phones are locked, period thats what all retail staff are told to say in the manuals.

Read Manual, do your work 8 hours as it says, done, have beer and sleep :D

this is what the online chat says from HN….

LanaHello sajidmib. How may I help you?

    sajidmib hi LAna

I have an enquiry about this product:

Vodafone Nokia Lumia 735 Windows Phone - Grey HNOK735GVF

is there a $100 bonus Myer card on the purchase of this phone

or there is any better phone than this

Lana: Just looking into that now for you - one moment please.

there is no offer of 100 dollars myer card

    are you there ?

    sajidmib: yes

    so which phones have it

Lana: not with myer card but it is on sale

    • +11

It has nothing to do with Harvey norman, it's a claim from Microsoft, click the link i put in post for info. HN Chat are hopeless and know nothing

      • +3

"HN Chat are hopeless and know nothing"

This cant be stated often enough!!

    • +2

The Coles giftcard is from MS directly. Not HN.

      • its MYER gift card

        • +4

          It's Coles/Myer actually.

    • +6

Seriously why do you want to chat with them for the cashback !!!!!
The cashback is from Microsoft and Harvey Norman is on the retailer list.

Once HN realizes the $100 Microsft Cashback, they might raise the price.
Seriosuly we need to take off the OzB tag of some people

  • tiny nitpick nwk-wise,
    LTE800/1800/2600 - FD700or FD850 frequency band appears omitted like me 1+One.

    • will missing out on Vodafone LTE850 make much of a difference?

      • Not so much outdoors with many islands of L1800, may go to 3G 900 indoor though if not in a few hundred metres closest one. Balances out though.

  • Thanks OP, I am already on Vodafone, so this is a great deal :) sad to leave my N8 behind :(

  • +1

I've ordered one, let's see if it's unlocked or not. I'm on vodafone so no dramas really.

  • officially ex-lumia 520 user, got it one and will see if it's unlocked.

  • Really tempting if it's unlocked. Will have to try it first at the shop before bite the bullet though.

I hope there are still stocks left this evening

    • +9

Just bought one in store, put IMEI in on the Vodafone website and can confirm it is unlocked.

      • +1

Cheers m8, will update post :)

  • So this should be ok to use on Telstra prepaid?

    • Yes

      • Awesome, thanks.

  • +1

put my imei into vodafone unlock site and it said it was unlocked. it's double wrapped, so harvey norman has added a vodafone prepaid sim, but I'd say it's an unlocked outright phone.

    • Do you know if the 735 uses the nano sim or micro sim?

  • Thanks trent. Just bought one. Used a $25 code that i have. Total $226 - $100 Coles GC.
Will buy something for $100 (minus another $25 code) to make total $300 for $50 Amex Cashback.

    Total savings $25 + $25 + $100 gift Card + $50 Amex Cashback = $200

    • Nice one :)

      • +1

        Thanks to you .

        Merry Christmas :)

        • You too m8 :)

  • Looks like the phone is unlocked (Vodafone says when I enter the IMEI). Will post again when I try with a non-vodafone sim to confirm. Thanks OP. Good deal.

    • No need to swap SIM to check unlock status.

Dial ##7820# to bring up the unlock status screen, even with a Vodafone SIM in the phone.

This screen has a lock symbol where you can enter the 20-digit unlock code if required. It looks like a padlock.

After confirming the code, the locked symbol changed to an unlocked symbol. Restart the phone and re-dial ##7820#. If you get the unlocked symbol, everything is good.

      • Thanks. Learn something everyday. :)

      • Hi Tassie. I have previously bought from HN a supposedly unlocked version of Lumia 735 and for boredom's sake I just dialed ##7820# to see what it will look like, and I'm also getting the locked symbol although I'm pretty sure the phone is unlocked as I'm right now using an overseas sim card with the phone. Would you happen to know why?

        • Hi FOX, if your Lumia 735 is unlocked, you shouldn't be seeing a lock symbol. I've got a now-unlocked Lumia 630, which did what it oughter, ie previously locked padlock, now an unlocked padlock. Ditto with a Lumia 530 locked to Telstra.

        • @tassie Pete: Thx Tassie, guess I'll have to ask Microsoft as to why I'm still getting that padlock symbol >.<

  • Bought one, thanks~~

  • Can i get the bonus coles gift card if i buy it from officeworks.

  • Just picked one up. Got told by staff that they are suppose to be unlocked and they would provide me with a code if it turned out locked. Checking IMEI on the VODA website says mine is unlocked.

  • will DSE price match .. ?

  • Tried my local JB to price match and they would do it except they called local H/N and said they were on backorder so JB refused. Tomorrow morning Dickies. Microsoft seem to really be trying very hard this Chrissie to get market share from Android and IOS. By the way today's Daily paper shows a full page add with an unlock symbol for H/N even though shows as V/F.
