I own it and I'd say don't bother buying.

    • An earlier post on Whirlpool gave it a wrap as compared to a Western Digital Live unit.

Why would you not recommend it?

      • It locks up alot for me. I purchased it as my old PC seemed to struggle to stream to my Apple TV so I was just copying to Portable HDD.

Bought this for my Dad and he's had no problems with it what so ever. Mind you, all he uses it for is to watch movies off a HDD. It powers a 1tb WD 2.5" external no problems. Reads from it very quickly. Hasn't experienced stutter from any 3gb-ish file i've put on there. Fassforwards & rewinds well. Its never locked up at all and he's had it since Fathers day. Not sure if there's been any firmware updates since then.

The UI is ugly though and very very basic. Response time from the IR remote is average. Also there is no power button on the unit itself, only the remote.

I would recommend it as a basic cheap media player with only a couple of bells and no whistles.

  • Picked it up today and it runs beautifully so far. I'm sure I will get lock ups over time but do far so good.

  • Bought from DS. saw one in Auspost $39.95 today.
