    Worked for me too. When activated in Steam, it states it is the North American version… Time for 75% off Metro 2033 as well now Amazon? Please?

  I purchased the game from Amazon, redeemed the key, downloaded, installed, and have played. However, it installed as Metro Last Light Redux (NA) (North American) version. From various posts I've read speculating about games like this, I've heard the following;

  Apparently new keys from certain vendors will slowly become marked with a region code, at some stage Steam updates this info in their database and the game can only be played from the region it was purchased. The idea is that old keys will slowly be sold out of circulation and replaced with these new ones as many people are now circumventing Steam to purchase cheaper deals elsewhere.

  Can't say how much truth vs. conspiracy theory is held within these various ideas floating around but I do know Steam loves money and loves holding a monopoly even more - time will tell.
