almost same specs as an iphone

iPhone cameras still use film though

  • I guess it is locked to Telstra… Could you unlock it by loading cyanogenmod?

  • Same price as HN. Only good as music player.

    • so no good as a phone??

      • Will be fine as a basic phone. I have a Huawei with much less specs, and while its a bit slow for web and some other things, it makes and receives calls fine and very clear. Would expect this, with better specs to be perfect as a cheap first phone for high-school age kids etc.

      • Yeah of course as a basic phone but too less ram for fb, whatapps, etc. at the same time.

    • You don't want to use this as a music player. You'll get better sound quality from a potato. Its use is in being an expendable spare phone and one I can use to buy from Google Play with Telstra prepaid credit.

      • I think with bluetooth to dock should be OK, right?

BTW I heard that you can use Telstra prepaid credit as google play credit, how to do it?

        • @Dan_:

Cool, that's even better! Supposed to be $10 credit within 14 days (plus $20 Google play credit which expires 23 Feb 2015).

(I bought a few more on Saturday from Big W — price match plus 5% wish card discount — but maybe I should have bought even more… deal finished now…)

        • I tried using the $10 credit for Google Play, apparently no go. It is not standard credit, but "bonus credit" that can only be used for SMS, calls and data. To get most mileage on $10 may need to choose Simplicity plan (not Freedom etc) if you want most mileage out of the $10 credit for the 14 days.

  • No stock in Perth?

  • Got $20 google play credit with it. So good :')

    • where/how did you get the play credit, OW or HN as mentioned above?
Do you have a link about the play credit?

      T.I.A

    • Don't think mine came with Google $20 credit :P

(Just has $10 Telstra phone credit, 14 days expiry)

  • Thnx

  • damn that's cheap. can't vouch for the phone, though

  • Nice one.
I got two from my local HN.
I put $20 boost cards in this type of phone and give the to friends visiting from overseas….saves me calling them in Finland when they are around the corner.
Then I tell them they can keep them for bonus cool points!

  • Anybody unlock successfully?

  • Anyone know can we claim the $20 Google Store credit bonus without activate the new sim come with the device?

    • You can't. You need to SMS the IMEI number to Telstra from the activated SIM.

      • Ic.Thanks!

  • Surprised with this phone, it's not bad.

Thought the ram would make it lag but it's running kitkat so 512mb is fine.

For effectively $4.50 is a great throwaway phone.

Mali 400 gpu so games run great too.

    • Anyway cheap way to unlock?

  • Bagman can unlock for $11

10k on antutu if anyone is interested

I'm going to get more, the google credit is not locked to any account, and can think of plenty of uses for this phone- spy cam, kids toy for the car, solar monitor.

    • How can you request unlock from Bagman?

    • Makes a cheap dashcam too.

  • anyone still monitoring this, a friend told me you can still get these in bargain bins at some Harvey Norman's has anyone seen them recently in Melbourne

    • Yes I bought it a few days ago for $28 not $24.50 but still good.
