    • Thanks. Any specific recommendation from d list OP or Luke?

    • What is the concenious on the Selby wall mount? I'm looking for a mount for a 55" LCD. I've bought a Ugly antennae cable from them and so far had no problems.

  • I just only two weeks ago wall mounted all our TV's after a decade of procrastination.

It's a good idea to "test mount" the TV in roughly the place where you want the wall to check for reflections etc.

I went to Masters and they had a good bunch of moveable TV mounts (ie on an arm) - the downside to the moveable arm ones is that the arm has to go directly into the frame of the wall (so tap for it or get a stud finder). Because the centre of the mount has to go into the frame - it limits where the TV can go compared to fixed mounts.

Think about what you are going to do with the cables too - I had the electrician out of site for the power outlets so I got him to make two holes in the wall to draw the cables from behind the TV and pop out behind the low TV cabinet. If you can't do something neat with the cables - best not to bother otherwise it looks terrible.

  • Hoping to tag on to this … I'd like a simple mount for a sold brick wall. TV is currently on bedroom chest of drawers taking up the whole space. Aldi have a swing arm one coming up on special. https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-15-…

How much would that stand off from the wall? I'd like a small swing, but it is more important to make the mount and TV as shallow as possible.

    I have a Sony KDL - 48W700C
