  • http://www.sanity.com.au/StoreLocator.aspx heres the store locater for sanity, but where will i find one for hmv/virgin music?

    Great deal nonetheless!

    • That store list has HMV and Virgin's in it aswell

      • Oh my bad i didnt notice. I'll definately be getting myself a pair

  • how did you check they were available around the country? If you checked for SA which stores had stock. Thanks

    • All i saw was my local store had some in stock as of this morning, if you visit a local store and if they have none, they can always search for nearby stores with some

  • Bargain, I'll go check my local store tomorrow morning and see if they have any in stock

  • sweet got the last one at BullCreek :D
    Cheers

  • What time do they usually open? I'm planning to call them to ask if they still have these. Do you think these stores in Myers have them as well? A great bargain nonetheless.

    • Usually 9, yep all virgin in myers will have the same offer, so if a local sanity doesn't have any it's good to also check virgin @ myer

      • Alrighty, thanks swimmingtoad. Will try to call them around 10 and hopefully they'll have some in stock and would hold it for me. Thanks again mate.

  • +2

They just closed my nearest Sanity to make way for a General Pants Co. Will call around - great deal!

    • +2

same with my local, just closed for some fashion store

    • +1

Same with my local, which is now a Footlocker!

  • Awesome deal, will be seeking them out tomorrow. Best deal on OzBargain this month.

  • Given the title "Mystery sound box" does anyone know the actual content? Retro, hip-pop? Classical? What can we expect from it?

    • its a box with headphones, lanyard and 2009 ministry of sound cd in it…

"The Ministry of Sound gift box set contains a limited edition set of Ministry branded headphones, along with a swanky lanyard and a copy of The 2009 Annual, skilfully delivered by John Course and Goodwill. All packaged up into one hot hot hot looking Ministry of Sound re-usable CD crate!"

    • O.o Ministry, not Mystery. Up late are we? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_of_Sound_2009_Annual

    • +4

If you're not sure what the annual is, it's probably not for you.

  • Actually looking at the design of the headphones, i'm not that thrilled with it. Looks pretty ugly to me. I'd much rather one of the original skull candy designs, the yellow and chrome looks really cool.
Hope this MOS version looks better in the flesh.

  • The link now only says shop for it at Sanity. The link to Sanity goes to a dead link. When I search on the Sanity website for "Ministry of Sound" I did not find it. (only other cds and things by Ministry of Sound)

I'm not sure if this is sold out already :P

    • Sannity / Virgin / HMV is the same company, so they stock the same stuff. It would have got deleted off Sanity.com.au when they initially ran out, due to it being an item that cannot be reordered.

  • +1

two stores in the Lower Hunter have this product. as described above. I rang them up!

  • -4

No stock in Parramatta neither branches in and out of westfield, none at Bankstown, one at Burwood who wouldnt give the price of $9.99

    • What do you mean they wouldn't give the price, is Aus-wide pricing. If the price is marked wrong, or the salesperson is unaware of the clearance, they will soon work it out once the item is scanned…

  • Checked out the Virgin Megastore, George St Sydney CBD - couldn't find the box set with headphones, just the CD by itself.

    • Most stores have them at the front counter or on a sale table, but city stores are more liekly to have sold them all already

  • The colour of this kit (incl. headphones) from the link is loud! Maybe they needed to bundle in sunglasses so users don't get blinded! ;-) Good deal for the price - Shame about the colour.

    • ;) sunglasses in next year's MoS gift box? :)

  • cheers to the person that put the last 3 on hold in blacktown….fags

    • and whoever put the last 2 on hold at Virgin in Myer at Marion.

      • I called Virgin@Myer in Marion, Virgin@Myer in Myer Centre Adelaide and Sanity Rundle Mall, none have any available stock.

Every other store is an hour or more away - I'm not driving that far for a CD.

I called around at just after 9 this morning.

        • Fair enough, I just saw 2 sitting behind the desk with a note on them, I thought it might have been 'hold for ______'

  • Bought the last two from Virgin in Canberra. Will make nice XMAS pressies.

    • +1

unless the recipients are oz bargainers, then they'll know you're a cheapskate lol

      • lol actually the recipient would appreciate the gift even more…

"OMGMFM you rang 16 stores and drove 35kays and got my xmas pressie two months early!!"

btw Miranda and Hurstville dont have any, but i paid a minimum deposit of $10 at Miranda Virgin, who will order one in for me. I hope the next call i get from them wont be "how would you like your $10 refund"

    • nice, which Virgin? the ones in Tuggeranong had zilch this morning - not worth the drive to city lol

  • Thanks buddy. They will make quite a few friends happy

  • +1

I contacted a few stores and they mostly were out of stock.

The lady did tell me they raised the price back up though so apparently this 9.99 doesn't exist anymore.

However, anyone wanting those headphones can get them free with any dance cd purchase.

I told her what the cheapest CD was lol, dammit i wanted those headphones.

  • +1

None left at HMV Indooroopilly in Brisbane. There were 9 left at HMV at Mount Gravatt (Garden City Westfield) in Brisbane. I bought 4 of them, so there were 5 left as of 2pm today.

Not that thrilled with the headphones, seem a bit cheaper than i expected. The red padding looks a bit ugly. Also i tried them for a minute and i don't like the pressure the cans put on my ears. After 1 song my ears were really hot and red. So not sure if i'll use these over my ear buds. I have a large head, so might be just me.

    Still a great deal though.

  • If you're wondering why its not on the website, Sanity redesigned their site not too long ago - the link above links to the old product page. You'd still have been able to view the product even though it was deleted / discontinued, but their new site no longer shows deleted products.

Great deal if you can find one - the Skull Candy headphones alone sell for $$$ … not sure how great the quality is with these, but they specialise in different visual designs (they've released headphones featuring specific bands in the past as well as other 'themed' headphones).

Kind of explains why Sanity are closing stores left right & centre - run by idiots (why would you sell a $100 item for $10, when you could sell just as many for more?!?)

  • Yay!! got one. Lucky I called Virgin Myer Adelaide CBD first thing this morning.

  • +1

FREE! I went to Chermside HMV this morning. They were out of the box set but had heaps of headphones and lanyards that they were just giving away! I got just the one as not to be too greedy but there looked to be heaps there. So if you're in the area and don't mind not getting the CD, go for it.

  • -1

    who wants mos anyway

  • went to hmv and they had some behind the desk, but the pimple faced geeks where trying to tell me although the pack scanned in came up as $9.99, that the pack was only available to people who bought a MOS cd, any cd and they get the pack for free. When i told them thats not what it says on the sanity webpage (cough), their excuse was, "oh we changed it that now its a gift with purchase"
grrr. Not at all miffed to miss out on it, as doesn't look so great, but peeved at the 2 people behind the counter that where lying through their teeth to do anything to keep this box of meh and get me to buy a MOS cd.
I just said, 'buy a full price MOS yeah right, thanks anyway' and walked out.
Doesn't surprise now that that HMV is always empty. They mustn't get a lot of business also, because i had 2 people come up and ask me if I needed help with anything whilst browsing their small range of items.

    • What liars !
Every Virgin/Sanity Store i called was well aware of the promotion. I reckon they were trying to cash in on the mad rush.

Anyways, virtually called every NSW store until i found out a mass email was officially sent out earlier to all stores tostop the frenzy.
As it stands, none are avaiable Australia wide. Too late once again BUMP !

      • Same for Victoria…

I went to the Sanity store at Highpoint (on Friday) and they told me they did receive that email from head office and that there is no stock left…hhmm…

    • Maybe they wanted to discourage you from buying it so they could buy it themselves, having discovered from you that it was really cheap.

  • sweeet, the joys of living in lowly unpopular tassie lol. Apparently there were a few left down south, launceston even went as far as transfering one over for me from hobart. Legends! Good deal by the sounds of it :) nice pick up whoever found this…

I bought two this morning from the Virgin in Myer Carousel WA.. there seemed to be a few more. Didn't check the nearby Sanity. Not a bad deal, sorry for not voting it up, but really, the headphones are just utter shite, it's not even funny. I bought them as gifts for some newphew/nieces, and I don't imagine an adult wearing these headphones out ever (unless maybe you have a really unique sense of dress style). I imagined a skullcandy headphone similar to what they use to sell with some prepaid phones, I think it was Optus or something, but these don't look anything like those.

Either way, cheap enough gift idea for kids.

Went to Chatswood and asked the guy who works there to check stock nationwide. He found 11 (ELEVEN) at Maitland. Asked him if he can get it sent to Chatswood he said he can.

    I ordered 5.

He got 6 of them in.

The store was a Virgin store in Myer but the computer system showed all Virgin / HMV etc group stores so you are bound to get one if you just ask them to check stock and get it delivered in.

  • You couldn't pay me $10 to take something that ugly lol. And it sounds like the headphones aren't that great either.

    • I'll give you $10 to take this $99 package being sold for $9.99

Let me know if you're keen.
