    • lol!?!?!!11!? gud1

  • Just watch if you're using this on a non full frame camera. Tur s into more of a 100-400mm, you can't walk around the just this lens on, ideally need a second body. Had to sell mine as it was just too 'long' on my 550d and just didn't get the use

Great for a couple of weddings I did though

    • wow, super tele for weddings shot, even for a full-frame this one is too long, only suitable for wildlife or sport I think.

super tele for weddings shot, even for a full-frame this one is too long

Depends if you're invited or not ;)

    • 70-300 is a great focal range on DX for weddings, sports and kids running around at the park, bird photography, airshows and motorsports and some styles of portrait and landscape if you know what you're doing. It is not an all purpose lens. That isn't the fault of the lens. You do need to understand what a lens does and where it fits in the line up before spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on one.

I usually have a pair of Nikon D90s around my neck when I'm photographing seriously - one with an 18-70 mounted and the other with a 70-300.

If you're a Canon shooter and not a pro nor do you don't want this kind of spend consider the 55-250 IS STM which is a cheap plastic lens that can be had for under $200 but is getting rave reviews for sharpness.

I have the first gen 55-250 is lens and mine is still going strong after 5 years of use :)

That 5 dollars off makes all the difference!

    • It is not the coupon but the orice of the lens itself which is currently on sale.
$1,184 vs $1,481.00 (see above) is no brainer for me.

  • If you dare to dream, salivate over THIS at this merchant's site instead, for "only" $2295: the new-ish 70-200 f2.8L IS II USM lens. If you can handle lugging it around, it's an awesome lens. http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Canon-EF-70-200mm…

    • digidirect.com.au had it for $2,546.00 - 10% off = ~$2290.
So not a good price, the reason is that 70-200 f2.8L IS II USM was not on DWI sale list.
