Hi guys,

Dex2rose is a brand new liquid nitrogen gelateria and cafe that just opened up in one of the laneways of Melbourne CBD. To promote ourselves, we're giving away 150 free small cups of gelato between 8.30pm - 9.30pm tonight (3rd Jan), normally worth $4.95-$5.95. All we ask of you is for you to like our Facebook page and also check in on our page when you're in the store.

As our staff are fairly new, we kindly ask of you to be patient with them while they learn how to deal with peak traffic.

Our crazy flavours include Cookie Dookie, Iron Maiden, PB&J, and Pumpkeeen Spice amongst others.

We're at 377 Lt Bourke street, Melbourne, access is thru Racing Club Lane. Just look for "Mountain Designs" and we're located in the laneway right next to them.

  You should explain what a liquid nitrogen gelato is.

  I had to Google it and found 2 of your local competitors, which is probably not what you want :P

  Seems like a lot of conditions/effort for a small gelato. Your quoted RRP seems high also.

  Also the business name is not evocative or enticing at all.

    When was the last time you bought gelato from anywhere?? $4.95-$5.95 is quite decent!!!
    I've seen plenty of places that want closer to $7 or $8 for a small or one scoop gelato!!!

      …doesn't seem like something an Ozbargainer would do.

      Sorry to be more of a downer but neither their website nor their facebook page has a menu or product photographs other than the one above and an older couple showing how it makes their tongues go black.

      Lots of photos of staff mugging at the camera with chocolate all over their faces however. This is marketing in the Instagram/Snapchat age I suppose…

    The price is pretty decent really.
    But agree with the name Dex2Rose sounds like dextrose - unless thats the main ingredient.
    Another similar place is called NitroGenie (up at Noosa).

  Thanks for all the feedback and encouragement guys! We'll keep doing better! Sorry I took so long to reply. I'm in the store 18-20 hrs a day making the gelato so don't get to spend much time online. We make all our gelato in store by hand, including our raspberry rush sorbet aka the "red slurry". Our staff are now pretty familiar with the procedure so no more slushies!
