Handheld Vacuum - Home and Car

Hi guys, I'm looking for a handheld vacuum for those little jobs when I don't need to whip out the big one.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Is Dyson the way to go? Amy alternatives? Anything on special at the moment?

Thanks!

  • i have a wired (via cigarette lighter) handheld vacuum that stays in the car. bought it from supercheap auto for $15. works fine. though I do occasionally pull out the house vacuum to get rid of heavier/messier/finer stuff like sand.

home hand held - Godfrey's has this fine piece of technology for $9

  • I got a used vac from a garage sale for $5, much better than the dc car vacs, they are just not powerful enough to be useful. If you want something small and portable then get something like this…. http://www.godfreys.com.au/black-and-decker-dustbuster-7-2v-…
They are still weak compared to a regular vacuum though.

    I have a Dyson DC-35, and I wouldn't be without it. I don't have another vacuum.

You can get a flexible hose attachment for it, allowing you to reach the tricky areas in your car.

sister has the battery dyson, battery life is shocking. save your money and buy something else.

  • I like to use a mini vaccuum in the car. I had a Breville with a lot of power to it. When it's battery exhausted, I bought a mini Vax and found they have horrible battery life and poor suction, was quicker to take out the big one than to charge the Vax prior to each use.
Purchased a Black & Decker with a lithium battery. Very powerful and holds charge. Only problem is that you have to wait for a good sale as they are expensive.
Not Dyson expensive, those things are huge, heavy and not very portable.

  • Look for Masters/Bunning Special for Vac under 49$ ( might be able to secure for $25 marked on specials but they are not handheld, instead small portable). We have got one 3 yrs back from Masters and still works as new.

They don't list some models on the website so you have to pay visit. Stick with low budget generic Vac, also can look into Costco Stores if you are a member.
