can you buy one @ $39 now?

Well unless you really need it now you should probably wait for a lower price. Historical pricing is a very important consideration of mine because you could be getting it cheaper.

  • also $57 over at Harvey Norman

  • Has the battery charging improved? I have owned a different Panasonic set from circa 2010 and the batteries keeps dying (even after replacing with genuine ones) bc the base keeps on trying to charge the handset regardless of battery state so it is always overcharging and handset is always warm.

Its killed two sets of genuine batteries each lasting around 4 weeks before capacity became unacceptably short and as soon as i lift handset the power dies.

    • Don't have such problems with mine. Handsets kept on bases mostly, had them since the last big OW deal last year.

  • Ive used these phones, they are not good.

  • Any good ones at this price then?

Uniden unfortunately uses proprietary battery packs instead of standard AA/AAA ni-mh as Panasonic does.So you have to pay through your nose to get uniden battery pack or get some no name replacement off ebay. In the case of Panasonic we can easily use the excellent eneloops instead.

        • I have always been able to purchase my Uniden replacements (non-genuine) from Big W or Dick Smiths. They have always lasted many years. Admittedly I haven't purchase any for several years so I can't confirm if this is still the case. I agree it would be more convenient to be able to use the Eneloops.
