  • Thanks! Is there minimum spend?

Awesome! Is it possible to get this offer in store as I wish to purchase it on my Teachers Health? Or any other way to get the offer claiming on my health fund?

    • You can still claim if you order online. You submit your claim with receipt (with the provider number on it) to your health fund.

    • Jack will correct me if I'm wrong but I think Specsavers give cheaper prices if you order from them online rather than order in store. You can claim through your health fund just the same either way

  • No minimum? Jack Sparrow you've done it again!

  • Awesome, lucky haven't bought from other stores

  • Tempted to try some contacts for soccer.

    • I use my contacts for soccer all the time.

      • I just aim for the 'middle' ball lol

Having never used contacts before my only concern is learning the art of fitting and removal.

        • If you go to any optometrist (Specsavers offer this service free) they will teach you how to insert the contacts for the first time and give you trial ones to test out. There are many brands available. Make sure you get the ones with high water content so it doesn't dry out your eyes.

        • @sagrules: Thanks. I might go see them for a new script too.

        • @sagrules: high water content lenses are likely to dry out more, for the record. Water content alone isn't the determinant of on-eye comfort, the material the lens is made from and the shape of the lens plays a much bigger role overall, in my opinion (speaking as an optom)

        • @shmahoo: Yes that's true - I use Acuvue moist for astigmatism and this is soft lenses which are easily inserted and tends to have high water content (58%) i think.

        • @sagrules: Can't get in before the current offer ends. Bummer.

        • @scottb721: If its your first time ordering contacts you can use this offer instead:

Come on hawksey. Make it 50%

  • Got Service Unavailable when applying the promo code…

    • All good now!

  • OP I tried to order contacts about half hr ago and the site is very slow and non-responsive. Had to re-enter details twice and still couldnt save it.

    Now this comes up:
Unfortunately, the contents of your basket do not qualify for the promotion code entered.

    • Hey sagrules,

Let me take a look at the backend and come back to you. Orders are coming through - with code applied. I tried it myself on the site and it works. Did you manage to buy with code applied?

      All the best
      Jack Hawks

      • Just tried it again and it worked. Thanks Jack.

        • Great!

  • interested to purchased. i have got MEDIBANK (My Option) , any idea if i can purchase this and claim back the full amount?

Upon the claim back, other than the receipt, do i need to show any other document or related information about my eyes?

    • +1

You should find out what your annual cap on contacts are before you purchase to claim the full amount

      • i can claim up to $200 annually on optical, and thinking of buying this…

i do not have prescription written, but i know what i need. so, can i actually claim it just by the receipt? any idea?

        • +1

Some levels of extras within Medibank Private will not give you back you full $200 cap unless you buy LOTS of contact lenses (eg 1 year supply). But your mileage may vary of course.

Generally just the receipt is necessary to claim, but the law within Australia as I understand it is you can only be supplied contact lenses if you have a copy of your prescription or are authorised by an optometrist for a particular type of contact lens after having tried trial versions of a lens on your eyes (happy to be corrected if anyone else knows better)
          :)

          @shmahoo:

Thank you for the good info :)

        • @gandhi28152: Specsavers will provide that service free of charge and provide the prescription as well if you ask for it.
