  • This is quite good, yeah???

Its not bad. You can buy a 2TB hard drive (no enclosure) starting at $87

      http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?price-min=84&q=2t…

But then a 3.5" HDD USB enclosure (if you dont have an old one at home) costs ~$20-ish so brings it in around the same price. And this deal as free shipping.

Not sure how ShoppingExpress are for dealing with warranty tho.. may prefer to deal with your local computer shop (GameDude, uMart etc)

That is the full 5.25" HDD though, this is portable 3.5"

        • +2

You mean 3.5" and 2.5" but yes you are correct, I missed the "portable" word

In which case this is an even better deal :)
And I was going to edit my post above, to say the Toshiba 3.5" HDD's for ~$87 dont have a very good reputation (high failure rates), so better to pay $5 more for Seagate/WD (if buying desktop drives).

US prices and not free delivery to Australia as you say.

      • OK.. US prices. I missed the 99 Cents on both of these too. Delivery would be about $20 based on an item I purchased in June 2014. SORRY

Just tried to order 4TB Desktop USB drive US$125.99. "The following items have been removed from your cart because they are no longer in stock or it cannot be delivered to your location." I get redirected to the Australian site :(

        nooooooooooooooooo

  • This is or the WD 2TB from COTD for $108?
I would have thought the WD at the same price point

    • +1

Isn't that $108 plus shipping? I'd take the Seagate for $103.55 (OW) over the WD for ~$116 shipped.

      • think its $108 shipped (if you haven't used THANKYOU code before)

I just got this when checking my postage in my cart.

"Special Discount 'Free Shipping' is added to your shopping cart."

  • bought thanks!

  • is this the 2.5" one that can be dismantled and used for ps4?

    • Yes the hard drive can be removed from this one and used in a gaming console. Although this voids warranty.

      • No, this wll not void the warranty. Sony allows usees to upgrade the hard drive. You can check the videos from their website.

        • +5

i think he meant the HD warranty

        • Yeah Sony are fine with it but once you remove the hard drive from the 2.5" enclosure segate don't honour the warranty. Just be careful removing it and you can always put it back in though.

    • Isn't the Seagate 2TB slim the one that fits the PS4. This isn't the slim drive that SE is selling is it?

      • +1

I believe both happen to have the exact same Samsung drive inside.

Anyway, I have this particular one and have put the 2TB in my PS4 (while putting the PS4's 500gb inside the enclosure).

      • +1

Yup, can confirm this also has the same 9.5mm 2.5' 2TB drive as the slim. Taken a few apart myself :)

  • not a bad price for local stock, slim hdd too if i recall.

how fast do these guys work usually? i have an order that payment for cleared on monday and it still hasn't been shipped or even dispatched.

Who else bought one of these pre floods back in 2011 for under $100… Still, great find given the prices elsewhere, cheers!

  • Where does it say 'Free Shipping'? and how would Officeworks match this price ?

  • +2

you can even upgrade the shipping to "Australia post eparcel + insurance cover" which is $15.95, but it'll come up free

  • Good luck finding these in stock anywhere at Officeworks in Perth.

Tried to get them to price beat JB Hifi but wasn't in stock anywhere (even though it was listed as in stock online), ended up just buying from JB.

Price matched at OW plus discount in Melbourne in the CBD with no issues. They had at least 8 left when I was there.

    • On Iphone typed last comment so for incorrect syntax apologies I give.
