OP are these the real deal penny boards? My 12 yr old wants 1 for his bday I have no idea what is the better brands etc
yeah, these are probably the best choice. but the same brand also makes a board called a penny 'nickel' these are basically the same thing but bigger, and in this case bigger is safer. its would be easy to learn on and has better control. unfortunately these are more expensive. honestly I wouldn't waist the money because this is a great deal and the number one brand, these are still safe its just the nickel is easier to control!

the Globe Bantam decks might be more suitable depending on his shoe size.
Bantams are $5 more and are a bit wider/longer overall 7" width and 24" length vs Penny's 6 width/22 length.True, but I have one and they rust out really quickly. Also they have 'slant' trucks and they are VERY squeaky, i would say to stick to penny.
Nice. Penny Boards are fantastic, much more thrilling than a normal sized board. Prepare to come close to death going down hills in pitch black. Death wobbles are your friend.
