Change Your Happy Meal Drink to a Large Frozen Coke for $2 and Lose Your Regular Coke

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Hey Kids! how would you like to be charged $2 instead of $1 for a large frozen Coke when you change your regular Coke to a large frozen Coke in your meals?
Yes, that's right the staff are not "allowed" to tell you that if you don't actually want your regular drink and you want a frozen drink it will cost you twice as much and as an added BONUS they will not give you the regular drink.

But wait.. there is more. If you try and ask why you were charged $2 you may have eyes rolled at you by a manager and as an added bonus they may walk away from you. Smiles are not Free on the menu anymore but you can get a discount using your Seniors Card.

But wait.. there is more. After filling in an online contact form you will not be contacted for over 6 weeks.

Your post makes no sense, re the "charged $2 and don't get to keep the regular coke" bit. What they are telling you is you can't swap different stuff in and out of the pre-set 'meal deals'; fair enough. Particularly in this case, where you want to swap in a large item, in place of a regular item.
As lola points out above, the only scenario under which you would pay $2 extra to forfeit your regular coke and receive a large frozen coke, is if you were not actually smart enough to realise that by paying just $1 (not $2) extra, you'd get to keep both.
I seem to recall reading some decent posts by you in the past loops, so I'm gonna assume you're just having a bad day!

    • What I am saying is that the staff could say to you "If you just pay $1 you can have the large frozen coke and the regular drink" However they charge you $2 for an item that costs $1 and then they do not supply the regular drink.

I don't think it is a matter of being smart enough, as I have seen this happen to "disadvantaged" people( you can message me for specifics) I think it is more about poor customer service.

<"What I am saying is that the staff could say to you…"

You refer to "the staff" as though they are a collective of highly intelligent, unified, well versed employees, operating in unison like they are all components of a well-oiled, highly efficient machine, intent on scamming 'average Joe' out of not only a regular coke, but $1 as well. This seems a little unlikely to me, some may even suggest fanciful. It seems more likely that you ordered from a relatively new employee, who just 'pressed the buttons he/she had been told to press' and trotted out the appropriate lines, whenever someone seeks to change the already 'bargain-basement-priced' meal-deal.

Of course I could be wrong though.

        • GK I am talking about people that do not know better (e.g mildly handicapped) I have seen it happen a few times now and when I approached the Staff leader about it they rolled their eyes at me like I was a nuisance. This is annoying and disappointing. I was unsatisfied with my conversations on the phone to MD. It is OK for people that realize but NOT common courtesy to those who don't know much better.

        • @lukeloop: Wow. You certainly seem to have well and truly lost touch with menial teenage sh!t kicker jobs. They are likely not calculating these substations in their head whilst punching buttons. Nothing better to do than complain about something so trivial?

@phoenix0: Sorry if I think that management should train their staff appropriately so as not rip off / give a better deal to a group of disabled people.

        • @lukeloop:

I don't think thats in their job description, its not their job to teach anyone maths. If you want to swap X with Y for an extra $Z, then thats that, no time wasting in teaching and arguing. If the staff does inform you, then that staff is doing it because he/she is nice and doing you a favour, not because she has to legally.

not sure why you are complaining…

"Loose Change Menu items cannot be altered, discounted, or used
as part of an Extra Value Meal."

      He does have a point

      Happy Meal + Frozen Coke Upgrade = $4.75 + $2 = Happy Meal + Frozen Coke + No Drink = $6.75
      Happy Meal + Extra Frozen Coke = $4.75 + $1 = Happy Meal + Frozen Coke + Drink = $5.75

While I dont really see the point apart from having a spit it still is pretty crazy.

  • This is the same with Hungry Jacks but it only costs 50c extra to upgrade any meal to a frozen coke. And thats why I pay $1 more to get both.

  • What ? Isn't the empire allowed to strike back ?

    McDonald's McFlurry for $1.40

  • Ah, yes. When it actually costs less to obtain more calories, and vice versa.

    o_O

  • The Coke is mostly ice watered down… You can go to any Indian/ethnic shop and get a can of Coke for a $1 anyway… REAL Coke.
