    Cinavia infected :(

    • Not an issue for me, I buy by discs from retailers :-)

I guess that if you are "backing up your own discs", then I understand how annoying that piracy protection system would be when trying to play that backup through a player.

people still buy movies on disc?
        wow i stream everything.

        • +2

Does everything include 1080p and DTS/TrueHD tracks?

Yeah Mate people still buy disks, ok. You think that bluray and dvd is on the way out, next you will be saying that ebooks will replace books, and that streaming music will replace, cd and albums.

      • Got negged for this because I do not steal my movies? Strange site.

I want one of these that also does 3D discs.

    • you mean you want the one of these that does 3D discs, or you aren't aware they exist? cos they do, I have one: http://www.laserco.com.au/BLU-BD10803D I bought mine from Topbuy, which I know aren't exactly well-reputed, but they were fine for me. Not sure where else stocks them or best price. It works exactly as described, no problems in any regard (besides maybe - sometimes just turning the player off seems to make it revert to Region B, other times it doesn't seem to, haven't really tested that though) but yeh, it was awesome to stumble on it back in the day when I was looking and options for region-switchable were in super-short supply

      • a multi zone 3D Blu Ray play for under $100.

    • I just ordered one of these from amazon, not a bargain but look around.. other options there that will ship to australia.

  • This deal is still valid if you don't mind risking a refurb with shorter warranty. Only other difference I can see is the refurb doesn't have component..

    • That model from Laser (Laser BLU-BD1000) has some real issues if you go by the reviews though. And that refurbished one has 3 months warranty with you paying the return freight (Risks we take, but if you get a good one, then you are on a winner)

      • Nothing wrong with mine

    • I wouldn't risk it. I did. I can't get it to play any of my DVDs.

      • That sucks. How well have Laser handled the warranty? (Was thinking of getting one myself possibly)

        • I only received it this week. I'll do more testing tomorrow and call them tomorrow if it doesn't work.

PM me next week if you want a follow up.

I chatted with Live Support Online and have been told I will receive a replacement unit and instructions to send the faulty one back as it is a "new" purchase (29th December)(edit: within "two weeks", as I said it only arrived this week). Postage costs paid by Laser Co.
